LOS ANGELES (AP) Romello White scored 22 points and No. 16 Arizona State held off St. John's 82-70 on Friday night in the opener of the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic tripleheader at Staples Center.

Shannon Evans II added 18 points for the Sun Devils (8-0), off to their best start since 1980-81.

St. John's rallied from a 13-point deficit early in the second half to trail 71-70 on a layup by Shamorie Ponds after he stole the ball from White.

After Remy Martin missed a layup for the Sun Devils, Bryan Trimble Jr. threw the ball away near the Red Storm's bench and they never got any closer.

Ponds scored 19 points for the Red Storm (8-2), who had their three-game winning streak ended.

Trae Young had 29 points and nine assists for in the Hall of Fame Basketball Classic tripleheader.

Young, a freshman who leads the nation in scoring, topped 28 points for the sixth straight game.

Christian James added 19 points, tying his career-high with five 3-pointers, and Brady Manek had 15 points for the Sooners (7-1), who won their fifth in a row.

Elijah Stewart led five players in double figures with 23 points for the Trojans (4-3), who never led in losing their third straight. Chimezie Metu had 13 points and 11 rebounds.

13) 23-year old Japanese prospect Shohei Ohtani signed with the Angels. From CBSSports.com:

?Because he is only 23, Ohtani is subject to MLB?s international hard cap. The Angels have $2.315 million in cap space and certainly all of that will go to Ohtani. Both the Mariners ($3.5575 million) and Rangers ($3.535 million) had more to offer, though Ohtani will instead head to Anaheim. The Angels will pay the (Nippon Ham) Fighters a $20 million posting fee.?

Ohtani wants to pitch and also be a position player in the majors. In Japan, he pitched most every Sunday, he DH?d Tuesday-Thursday and rested Friday-Saturday. Starting pitchers in Japan generally only pitch once a week; most Mondays are off days.

12) Cleveland Browns fired their GM, then hired former Chiefs? GM John Dorsey the same day; one of Dorsey?s first moves was to dump WR Kenny Britt, who had signed a 4-year deal with Cleveland, with over $10M guaranteed.

This is called addition by subtraction; you wait and see, the Browns will be good fairly soon. I?ll predict they make the playoffs in 2019.

11) From Football Perspective: Jets ran the ball 49 times against the Chiefs despite allowing 31 points, which basically never happens. Since 1983, no team has had 50 rush attempts when allowing 31+ points.

10) If Giancarlo Stanton wants to play for the Dodgers and has veto power over any trade, why would the Marlins think he would agree to play in San Francisco?

Now it looks like Stanton (not surprisingly) will wind up in the Bronx or Dodger Stadium.

5) Weird basketball season at Louisville; the school?s president, athletic director and basketball coach are all interim. Which spot gets filled first?

Saturday's Early Tips

This Saturday afternoon?s college basketball schedule opens up with the top team in the nation playing an early season conference opener when No. 1 Duke goes on the road to face Boston College.

Later in the day, an add-on game following this season's recent Big Ten/ACC Challenge pits Indiana on the road against Louisville.

Closing out this afternoon run, another top team in the national rankings is on the road with No. 6 Wichita State squaring off against Oklahoma State.

No. 1 Duke Blue Devils at Boston College Eagles (ESPN, 12:00 p.m. ET)

Opening Odds: Duke -15.5, Total 159.5

Betting Matchup

Duke has successfully navigated its way through its first 11 games straight-up while going a profitable 7-3 against the spread. Early in the season it knocked off Michigan State 88-81 as a slight one-point underdog and more recently the Blue Devils took down Florida 87-84 as 2 ?-point favorites. One of the big reasons for this early success has been the elevated play of freshman forward Marvin Bagley III with a team-high 21.9 points and 11.2 rebounds.

The Eagles are a respectable 6-3 SU in their first nine games, but they have dropped two of their last three outings with losses to Providence and Nebraska as underdogs. Their record ATS stands at 3-4 in games with a posted betting line and the total has stayed UNDER in five of those seven games. Boston College is averaging 75.4 points behind Jerome Robinson and Ky Bowman, who are each averaging 16 points a game.

Betting Matchup

Following losses to Duke and Michigan both SU and ATS as underdogs, the Hoosiers were able to stop the slide with Monday?s 77-64 victory against Iowa as 5 ?-point home favorites to even their record in Big Ten play to 1-1. They are now 5-4 SU with a 3-5-1 record ATS. One of the bright spots in this disappointing start has been junior Juwan Morgan with a team-high 13.8 PPG while shooting 58.3 percent from the floor.

Louisville made a quick exit from the national rankings with back-to-back losses to Purdue as an underdog and to Seton Hall as a slight 1 ?-point favorite. The Cardinals are currently 5-2 SU with a 2-4 record ATS. They got a big effort from senior forward Anas Mahmoud with 17 points and 13 rebounds in Wednesday?s 86-60 rout of Siena as heavy 23-point favorites.

The Shockers continue to prepare for their AAC debut with a 7-1 SU run through their first eight nonconference matchups. They have been less successful ATS at 3-3 after failing to cover against South Dakota State in Tuesday?s 95-85 victory as 18 ?-point home favorites. Wichita State is averaging 88.0 PPG and it is ranked ninth in the nation in assists (19.1) and fifth in rebounds (45.1) in what has been a total team effort.

Oklahoma State is also off to a SU 7-1 start with a 4-3 mark ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in six of those seven games with a betting line. The Cowboys are putting up an average of 80.4 PPG behind a foursome of players averaging at least 10 points, but their real strength has been at the other end of the court with a defensive effort that is holding opposing teams to 62.3 PPG.

Saturday's Late Tips

**Cincinnati vs. Florida**

-- Florida (5-3 straight up, 4-4 against the spread) will look to avoid a four-game losing streak when it faces Cincinnati in Newark, N.J., on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. Eastern. This will be the first encounter between these two storied hoops programs. A couple of offshore books opened the Gators as 1.5-point favorites, but with a -125 price tag attached to it. By 7:00 p.m. Eastern on Friday, however, most spots had the Bearcats favored by 1.5 points.

-- Mike White?s team raced out to a 5-0 start with a blowout win over Stanford and a double-overtime triumph over Gonzaga, sending it to the finals of the PK80 Invitational in Portland to take on unbeaten and top-ranked Duke. UF jumped out to an 18-4 lead and led by as many as 17 points in the second half. Hell, the Gators were up with four minutes remaining, but the Blue Devils rallied to capture an 87-84 victory as 2.5-point ?chalk.?

-- Florida returned home to take on undefeated Florida State this past Monday as a nine-point favorite. However, the Seminoles dominated from start to finish in an 83-66 win that hooked up their money-line supporters with a payout in the +385 neighborhood. -- That description fit the bill again Wednesday night when UF was in bounce-back mode vs. Loyola Chicago as a 16-point home ?chalk.? The Ramblers led from start to finish on their way to a nothing-fluky-about-it-whatsoever win by a 65-59 count to hook up their money-line backers with an incredible 10/1 return (paid $1,000 on $100 wagers). The Gators were an atrocious 2-of-19 from long distance (10.5%) and no player scored in double figures.

-- Florida was averaging 99.5 points per game while shooting at 49.0 and 46.0 percent clips from the field and 3-point range, respectively, in the team?s first six games. Since then in back-to-back L?s to FSU & Loyola Chicago, the Gators have averaged merely 62.5 PPG while shooting at abysmal 36.5 and 18.1 percent rates from the field and downtown, respectively.

-- UF?s top three scorers are slumping along with the rest of the team. Va. Tech transfer Jalen Hudson (19.4 PPG) paces the Gators in scoring, while Rice grad transfer Egor Koulechov (15.5 PPG) follows Hudson. Koulechov couldn?t miss early in the year, but he?s been held to scoring totals of 4, 15, 11 and 7 in the past four outings. Junior guard Kevaughn Allen (13.0 PPG) hasn?t been able to buy a bucket this season, draining only 35.3 percent of his FGs and 30.4 percent of his 3-balls.

-- Allen is currently the best FT shooter in UF history, splashing the nets from the charity stripe at an 87.0 percent clip. He had his streak of 27 consecutive made FTs snapped in Wednesday?s loss, but that surge of makes inched him ahead of Anthony ?Sag-Nasty? Roberson in the annals of UF basketball history.

-- With a hat tip to long-time UF beat writer Chris Harry for this factoid, the Gators haven?t lost four games in their first nine since 1996, Lon Kruger?s last season with the program when they limped to a 2-4 start. Side Note: Harry is a regular guest on my Games Galore podcast.

-- While UF played twice this week, Cincinnati (7-1 SU, 3-3 ATS) hasn?t played since its loss to bitter, cross-town rival Xavier in a heated contest this past Saturday. This game always features intensity and if you?re to believe UC head coach Mick Cronin, this one included Xavier?s J.P. Macura dropping three f-bombs aimed at Cronin, including one in the handshake line postgame. This agitated Cronin so much that he went after Macura, reportedly screaming, ?You want a piece of me?!? The postgame pressers for Cronin and Chris Mack were fantastic, so be sure to check ?em out.

-- Xavier handed Cincy its first defeat by an 89-76 count as a 2.5-point home favorite. Trevon Bluiett torched the Bearcats for a second straight year by dropping a game-high 28 points. In the losing effort, junior wing Jacob Evans scored a team-best 23 points. Cane Broome added 16 points and five assists, while Gary Clark finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and a pair of steals.

-- Cronin?s teams have always had a definitive MO. They get in your face defensively from start to finish and relentlessly crash the boards. The Bearcats are usually long and athletic and if they have a weakness, it?s usually perimeter shooting. This year?s version is no different except it?s shooting the ball at better-than-decent percentages (48.0% FGs, 38.0% 3-pointers).

-- This type of physical team seems to be one that will give Florida fits. You see, UF?s current weakness is rebounding and interior defense. Fifth-year senior center John Egbunu won?t be ready to play until some point in January after tearing his ACL in a win at Auburn on Valentine?s Day. Also, freshman forward Isaiah Stokes remains out from a knee injury last winter, while freshman forward Chase Johnson is ?out? with an illness. This has UF extremely thin and lacking depth in the frontcourt. Kevarrius Hayes, the junior center who played so well after Egbunu was injured last season, is off to a slow start this year and was suspended for the Stanford game for a violation of team rules.

-- Cincinnati is ranked 14th in the nation in scoring defense, limiting foes to a 61.2 PPG average. The Bearcats are sixth in FG percentage defense (36.2%). They are scoring at a much more prolific pace than usual so far this year, averaging 86.4 PPG to rank 30th in the country.

-- UC has been to seven straight NCAA Tournaments and owns a 234-137 record during Cronin?s tenure.

-- Evans (13.1 PPG) is averaging team-highs in assists (4.0 APG) and blocked shots (1.5 BPG), while Clark paces UC in scoring (13.8 PPG), rebounding (8.0 RPG) and steals (1.4 SPG).

-- The ?under? had cashed in four straight UC games until the loss to Xavier saw an ?over? appearance. The ?under? is 4-2 overall for the Bearcats.

-- The ?over? hit in UF?s first five lined games, but the ?under? has prevailed in back-to-back outings for the Gators.

-- Since the AAC was formed during the 2013-2014 season, Florida has lost three of four games against teams from the new league, including a loss to UConn in the 2014 national semifinals.

-- ESPN2 will have the broadcast from Prudential Center with Jon ?Boog? Sciambi and Fran Fraschilla on the call.

**Alabama at Arizona**

-- Several offshore books sent Arizona (6-3 SU, 3-5 ATS) out as an 8.5-point home favorite vs. Alabama late Friday afternoon, but the Wildcats were 7.5-point ?chalk? by Friday night.

-- Sean Miller?s team has been the nation?s biggest disappointment. Arizona is embroiled in FBI?s investigation into corruption in college hoops similar to the way Auburn, Louisville and Oklahoma State is also being looked at. To a lesser extent, South Carolina and Alabama are dealing with a few issues as well. These circumstances have clearly impacted the Wildcats on the court, too.

-- Arizona is unbeaten in four home games with a 2-1 spread record. However, Miller?s team took three consecutive losses in a span of three days at the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas over the Thanksgiving holidays. First, UA dropped a 90-84 decision to North Carolina State as a 12.5-point favorite. One day later, the Wildcats lost 66-60 to SMU as seven-point ?chalk.? Then in the final game vs. Purdue, the Boilermakers blasted Arizona 89-64 as one-point underdogs.

-- To its credit, though, Arizona has won three in a row since its ill-fated trip to paradise, including Tuesday?s 67-64 win over previously-undefeated Texas A&M as a one-point home underdog. Even with star guard Allonzo Trier, who is averaging a team-high 22.0 PPG, getting held to a season-low seven points and committing just as many turnovers (three) as he had assists (three), the Wildcats found a way to win behind a balanced offensive attack. Brandon Randolph, DeAndre Ayton, Dusan Ristic and Dylan Smith shared team-high scoring honors with 13 points apiece. Ayton had a double-double with 10 rebounds.

-- Before the win over A&M, UA gathered a little momentum by gutting out a 91-88 overtime win at UNLV last Saturday. The Wildcats failed to cover the number as 4.5-point road favorites, however, with the 179 combined points going ?over? the 157.5-point total. The score at the end of regulation was 78-78, so ?over? backers were fortunate for the extra sessions since there were only 156 combined points at the end of regulation. The Runnin? Rebels led by 11 at intermission and were still up by double digits with 12 minutes left. Ayton was the catalyst in the comeback, contributing 28 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Trier dropped 29 on UNLV, while Parker Jackson-Cartwright was also in double figures with 12 points.

-- Arizona sophomore guard Rawle Alkins is slated to make his season debut vs. ?Bama. Alkins, the Word of God Academy High School product out of Brooklyn, has been recovering from a broken foot. Alkins averaged 10.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game as a freshman last season.

-- Arizona freshman reserve wing Emmanuel Akot is ?questionable? vs. ?Bama due to a knee injury. He?s averaging 2.1 points and 1.6 RPG.

-- Alabama (7-2 SU, 3-4-1 ATS) is playing its first true road game. Avery Johnson has his best team in Tuscaloosa in his third season at the helm. The Crimson Tide is off to a fast start despite the absences of sophomore forward Braxton Key and senior guard Ar?Mond Davis. Key suffered a meniscus injury in late October and hasn?t played yet, but he?s so close to returning that he?s actually been upgraded to ?questionable? at Arizona. Key averaged 12.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game last year to garner SEC All-Freshman Team honors. Davis averaged 6.9 PPG in 2016-17.

-- Johnson?s team is off its best win of the year, a 68-64 victory over Rhode Island Wednesday as a four-point home ?chalk.? Junior forward Donta Hall led the way with 13 points, 14 boards, two assists and three blocked shots. Dazon Ingram also had a double-double with 10 points, 14 boards and a pair of assists. Daniel Giddens and John Petty added 12 points apiece.

-- Alabama is led by true freshman point guard Collin Sexton, who is averaging team-highs in scoring (20.8 PPG) and assists (3.5 APG). Sexton was held to 11 points in only 17 minutes of playing time vs. URI, but that was because he sustained an eye poke. Nevertheless, he?s ?probable? at UA. Hall (11.9 PPG) is averaging team-bests in rebounding (7.6 RPG), blocked shots (2.8 BPG) and FG percentage (75.0%).

-- Alabama is an underdog for only the second time this year. The Tide lost 89-84 to Minnesota on a neutral floor as a 4.5-point ?dog. The team?s only other loss came at home this past Sunday to UCF (65-62).

-- The ?under? has appeared in back-to-back ?Bama games to improve to 5-3 overall.

-- The ?over? is 5-3 overall for the Wildcats, 2-1 in their home games.

-- ESPN2 will provide the telecast on ESPN2 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern.

**B.E.?s Bonus Nuggets**

-- UCLA travels across the country and has to play a noon Eastern game on Saturday at Michigan. CBS will have the broadcast. Offshore books opened the Wolverines as 4.5-point favorites, and that?s where the number remained early Friday night. Michigan (7-3 SU, 4-5 ATS) is unbeaten in five home games with a 2-2 spread record.

-- Marquette is a six-point road underdog at struggling Wisconsin at noon Eastern on Fox Sports 1. The Badgers have limped to a 4-6 SU record to date and are in dire need of a win in this spot. They started the week win a conference win at Penn State, only to lose a heartbreaker at Temple two nights later (Wednesday).

-- VCU and Seton Hall will meet in the first game of the doubleheader in Newark, facing each other at 3:00 p.m. Eastern. Prudential Center is the home of the New Jersey Devils and the Pirates, who get a true home game against the Rams. Seton Hall was favored by 12 early Friday night.

-- John Calipari?s Kentucky team is undefeated in seven games at Rupp Arena, but the Wildcats have limped to a 2-5 spread record at home. The ?Cats are favored by 16 vs. Monmouth for Saturday?s noon Eastern tip.

-- Auburn is a 10-point home favorite to UAB for a 4:30 p.m. Eastern tip on the SEC Network. The Tigers are 4-0 SU and 2-0 ATS at home, while the Blazers are 1-0 both SU and ATS in their lone road assignment.

Pitt, WVU renew Backyard Brawl

PITTSBURGH (AP) The ''Backyard Brawl'' memories are well worn and familiar to Bob Huggins. They stretch back decades, the highs and the lows of West Virginia's longtime rivalry with Pittsburgh coming back to him in a rush.

How could he not want his players to be a part of it?

''My memory of most of them are on their side rather than ours,'' said Huggins, who played at West Virginia in the mid-1970s before returning as head coach of his alma mater in 2007. ''They'll understand. If they don't understand by the time they walk in the arena, they'll understand.''

The 185th meeting of a rivalry that dates back over a century returns on Saturday night when the 18th-ranked Mountaineers (8-1) visit the rebuilding Panthers (5-4). They last met in 2012, each school's final year in the Big East before bolting to new conferences. With both programs now settled in their new homes - West Virginia in the Big 12 and Pitt in the Atlantic Coast Conference - Pitt approached West Virginia in the spring of 2016 and asked about getting back together.

Negotiations didn't take long.

''There were a lot of people that said are we ever going to get back to the Backyard Brawl?'' said Pitt coach Kevin Stallings. ''It literally was the easiest scheduling. We called them and said `You guys want to play?' and they said `Yes.'''

Imbuing the importance to two rosters that have never faced each other is another matter. Yet given the proximity of the schools and their lengthy athletic relationship, Huggins and Stallings are hardly concerned about their teams playing with the edge that has long defined a series that began in 1906. The Panthers hold a 96-88 all-time lead, though West Virginia is 7-4 against Pitt since Huggins took over.

''When the word Pitt comes out of anywhere, you know what happens,'' Huggins said. ''And they're not immune to hearing that, obviously.''

The Mountaineers head in with serious momentum, having won eight straight games since an opening loss to Texas A&M, including a 68-61 victory over 15th-ranked Virginia on Tuesday. Stallings has spent a considerable portion of practice trying to get his team that features 11 new faces ready for West Virginia's relentless press, often putting seven or eight defensive players on the floor at a time and daring the offense to execute.

''It's really been a learning experience when we first started it,'' Pitt junior guard Jared Wilson-Frame said. ''It's something (now) we're able to handle with normality.''

At least in theory. Breaking pressure for a brief stretches is one thing. Doing it over the course of 40 minutes is another matter entirely.

''You can be prepared for it but I think at times there's a cumulative effect to it and that's the thing you probably can't really prepare for,'' Stallings said.

The game will be the first real chance for Pitt's completely retooled roster to play in front of a legitimately buzzing home crowd. The once-intimidating Petersen Events Center has been decidedly more welcoming during the bumpy retooling Stallings is overseeing. Stallings chuckled when asked if his team will have to adjust to a raucous atmosphere on its own floor.

If anything it's what the Panthers want.

''If you're not up for Saturday's game,'' Pitt senior forward Ryan Luther said, ''I don't know what you can get up for.''

This week at UNC-Greenboro Spartans

Thursday, Elon will travel to UNC Greensboro aiming for their first road win of the season. Thus far they are 0-3 on the road while UNC-Greenboro is 4-0 at home.

Yet, Elon faced Duke in one of three road matchups along with Furman and Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Against Wisconsin-Milwaukee they lost by a point 72-71, and held a halftime lead over Furman.

The spotlight loss for UNC-Greenboro is a head-scratcher against Presbyterian. They'll need to showcase focus from the onset against an Elon team that will be aiming to get the road monkey off their backs.

Team to Beware - Memphis Tigers

This week vs. Bryant Bulldogs

A program that has endured a rough transition has been the Memphis Tigers. The loss of Josh Pastner to Georgia Tech took a critical toll on the program last season.

Record-wise one cannot see the indication of a struggling program. At 5-2 straight up they've been able to mask the non box score glaring issues.

Yet, in their last three wins they've won by a combined five points. At halftime of both of their latest wins they were down by nine points against Samford and Mercer.

Facing a Bryant team that is 1-7 could finally cave the issues Memphis has been able to overcome. Another sloppy start and look for a team that's looking for confidence to pounce on the opportunity.

Total team: Northern Illinois Huskies

This Week vs. Central Connecticut Blue Devils

Teams from the MAC are use to nationwide exposure as part of ESPN3's consistent coverage of every game. Yet, a streamed game available versus a network televised game are vastly different.

Northern Illinois is coming off a 94-80 loss in a televised game against Iowa State. In the contest Northern Illinois guard Eugene German showed that he can play to the caliber of an elite rated guard. He scored 28 points in an array of ways and had the Huskies up two at halftime. His twenty points per game average may entice bettors Saturday against Central Connecticut State to glance at the total.

Yet Central Connecticut State is riding a five-game win streak and will already be coming off a Wednesday matchup in Chicago against DePaul. They'll be tested and ready to clamp down defensively.

Chatman made both foul shots, and then with BC retaining possession he was fouled again and made two more.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Miles Bridges, Nick Ward and Jaren Jackson each scored 17 points for Michigan State.

The Spartans (9-1) have won eight straight by double digits since losing to top-ranked Duke.

The Thunderbirds (5-4) had won three straight. They kept it relatively close at the Breslin Center for a while, trailing by just five points midway through the second half.

No. 5 Florida 66, No. 17 Cincinnati 60

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Chris Chiozza scored the final six points of the game and Florida snapped a three-game losing streak in the second game of the Never Forget Tribute Classic at the Prudential Center.

Chiozza put the Gators (6-3) ahead 62-60 with a drive across the lane with 1:12 to play.

The senior guard added two free throws with 20.1 seconds to go and he closed out the scoring with a fastbreak layup after a turnover by Cincinnati (7-2), which lost its second straight game.

Egor Koulechov had 21 points to lead Florida.

Backup guard Cane Broome had 15 points to lead Cincinnati.

No. 6 Wichita State 78, Oklahoma State 66

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Landry Shamet scored a career-high 30 points for Wichita State.

Conner Frankamp scored 14 points and Darral Willis, Jr. added 12 for the Shockers (8-1), who made 12 of 26 3-point attempts and outrebounded the Cowboys 36-26.

Tavarius Shine scored a career-high 20 points and Mitchell Solomon added a career-best 17 for Oklahoma State (7-2).

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Junior guard Admon Gilder scored 14 points and Texas A&M overcame a sluggish start.

The Aggies (8-1) led 44-40 5 minutes into the second half before scoring the next 18 points over a 7-minute span to put away the game against the outmanned Panthers (2-7).

A&M forward Robert Williams had 16 rebounds.

Zachary Hamilton led the Panthers with 18 points.

NEW YORK (AP) - Hamidou Diallo scored a season-high 23 points for Kentucky at Madison Square Garden.

Kentucky (8-1) won its sixth in a row. PJ Washington added 20 points, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander chipped in 15 and Nick Richards had 10.

Monmouth (3-7) has lost three straight. Deion Hammond led the Hawks with 19 and Micah Seaborn had 18.

No. 9 Notre Dame 92, Delaware 68

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Bonzie Colson had 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead Notre Dame in coach Mike Brey's return to Delaware.

Matt Farrell scored 24 points and TJ Gibbs had 21 to help the Fighting Irish (8-2) rebound from an 80-77 loss Tuesday to Ball State.

Brey returned to the Bob Carpenter Center for the first time since the end of his Delaware head coaching stint in 2000.

Kevin Anderson scored 23 points for the Blue Hens (4-6).

No. 13 Xavier 96, Colorado 69

CINCINNATI (AP) - Trevon Bluiett scored 25 points and J.P. Macura emerged from his slump by making his first six shots as Xavier completed a streak of non-conference payback wins.

The Musketeers (9-1) already had victories over Baylor and crosstown rival Cincinnati, which beat them last season, and they set a goal of completing the trilogy. Last season, they blew a nine-point lead in the second half and lost 68-66 at Colorado.

Namon Wright had 18 points for the Buffaloes (7-2).

Arkansas 95, No. 14 Minnesota 79

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Jaylen Barford scored 22 points and freshman Daniel Gafford added 16 on 8-of-8 shooting for Arkansas.

The victory is the first for the Razorbacks (7-2) over a Top 15 team since defeating No. 5 Texas A&M during the 2015-16 season, and it extends their home winning streak to eight games.

Jordan Murphy led Minnesota (8-3) with 20 points and 10 rebounds. The loss is the third in the last four games for the Golden Gophers.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Jevon Carter scored 19 points and Daxter Miles Jr. added 15 as West Virginia fended off a furious second-half run.

Lamont West finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Mountaineers (9-1), who have won nine straight following a season-opening loss to Texas A&M.

Ryan Luther overcame early foul trouble to lead Pitt (5-5) with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Pitt trailed by as many as 20 but closed within two points with 5:30 to go before West Virginia clamped down late.

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Angel Delgado had 14 points and 13 rebounds for Seton Hall in the Never Forget Tribute Classic at the Prudential Center.

Myles Powell added five of his 17 points in a game-breaking 13-1 first-half run, Desi Rodriguez had 17 and Khadeen Carrington scored 13 for the Pirates (8-1), who have won four straight since being beaten at the buzzer by Rhode Island on Thanksgiving.

Justin Tillman had 14 of his 20 points in the second half to lead VCU (5-5), which suffered its biggest loss of the season.

FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) - Nuni Omot scored 30 points while Jo Lual-Acuil and freshman Tristan Clark notched double-doubles to lead Baylor at Fort Hood.

Lual-Acuil had 19 points and 16 rebounds, Clark added 16 points and 11 boards and King McClure scored 23 for the Bears (7-2), who had lost two straight games.

Trey Sneed scored 29 points and Xavier Hunter added 23 for Randall (5-9).

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Grant Williams overcame early foul trouble to score 19 points in Tennessee's first game as a ranked team since December 2010.

Tennessee (7-1) won its fourth straight.

Garrison Mathews had 19 of his 22 points in the second half for Lipscomb (6-4).
