EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) Miles Bridges had 17 points and nine rebounds as part of a balanced offense that gave No. 2 Michigan State a 102-60 victory over Long Beach State on Thursday night.

The Spartans (12-1) have won 11 straight with all the victories by double digits and many by 20-plus points.

The 49ers (5-9) trailed by just five points midway through the first half before Michigan State pulled away. The Spartans led by 16 points at halftime and dominated at both ends of the court to quickly turn the game into another rout.

Michigan State's Joshua Langford had 17 points, Nick Ward scored 16 on 7-of-8 shooting, Cassius Winston had 13 points and eight assists and Jaren Jackson added 13 points.

Long Beach State's only double-digit scorer was Gabe Levin, who had 14 points.

No. 8 TEXAS A&M 89, BUFFALO 73

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Duane Wilson scored 23 points and Savion Flagg added 21 for Texas A&M, which was playing without three suspended players.

A&M (11-1) announced before the game that junior guard D.J. Hogg, the team's leading scorer at 14.6 points per game, was suspended for three games for a violation of university policy. In addition, freshman guards J.J. Caldwell and T.J. Starks missed the game because of violations of team rules.

The Aggies led 60-58 with 6:36 remaining when Robert Wilson hit a layup. Williams followed with a block on the other end, and Tonny Trocha-Morelos was fouled on an ensuing A&M fast break. Trocha-Morelos made the layup and resulting free throw, and within the span of less than a minute the Aggies led 65-58.

CJ Massinburg led the Bulls (7-5) with 20 points.

SAN DIEGO STATE 72, No. 12 GONZAGA 70

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Senior Trey Kell scored 10 of his 14 points in the final 2:56 and redshirt freshman Jalen McDaniels scored 10 of his 15 points in the second half and had 10 rebounds for San Diego State.

Freshman Matt Mitchell added 15 points for San Diego State (8-3), which led the whole game while shooting only 36.1 percent.

Zach Norvell Jr. led Gonzaga (10-3) with 22 points. The Bulldogs twice closed to two points.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Udoka Azubuike scored his team's initial 10 points and dunked seven times on the way to 24 points for Kansas.

Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and Devonte' Graham each added 14 points as the Jayhawks won their third straight game following defeats to Stanford's Pac-12 foes Washington and Arizona State.

Kansas (10-2) had eight dunks and six 3-pointers in the first half alone while shooting 62.5 percent.

Michael Humphrey had 20 points and seven rebounds for the cold-shooting Cardinal (6-7).

No. 16 PURDUE 97, TENNESSEE STATE 48

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Carsen Edwards scored 26 points and P.J. Thompson finished with 17 for Purdue.

Purdue (12-2) sealed the win when it outscored the Tigers 32-5 during the final 14 minutes of the first half. The Boilermakers were leading 16-11 when they took control of the game, overwhelming Tennessee State with a balanced offensive attack.

Delano Spencer led the Tigers (5-6) with 13 points.

No. 18 ARIZONA 73, UCONN 58

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Rawle Alkins scored 20 points and Dusan Ristic had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Arizona, which used a late run to pull away.

The Wildcats (10-3) took control behind their defense during a late 8-0 run that pushed their lead to 65-55 and on to their seventh straight win since an 0-3 trip to the Bahamas.

Arizona made 14 of 23 shots in the second half to win its 47th straight non-conference home game and beat UConn for the first time in six attempts all-time.

Terry Larrier finished with 18 points for UConn (7-4).

No. 20 CINCINNATI 81, CLEVELAND STATE 62

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) - Gary Clark scored 18 points as Cincinnati extended its home-court winning streak to 33 games, the longest in the nation.

Jarron Cumberland added 16 points for Cincinnati (11-2), which is playing this season at BB&T Arena at Northern Kentucky University while its on-campus arena is renovated. The Bearcats went 18-0 at Fifth Third Arena last season.

Tyree Appleby had 16 points for the Vikings (3-8).

No. 24 FLORIDA STATE 98, SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI 45

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - P.J. Savoy scored 17 points and Florida State made 19 3-pointers.

Savoy and M.J. Walker (15 points) each made five 3-pointers. The 19 3-pointers are one short of the school-record 20 the Seminoles (11-1) made against Maine on Dec. 8, 2007.

Florida State, which was 37 of 66 from the field, led by 26 at halftime (47-21) and was up by as many as 57 late in the second half.

Cortez Edward, Eddie Davis III and Anfernee Hampton each scored eight points for Southern Mississippi (7-5).

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) Mikal Bridges scored 20 points and No. 1 Villanova remained unbeaten with a 95-71 rout of Hofstra on Friday night at the Nassau Coliseum.

Bridges was one of five players in double figures for Villanova (12-0).

Omari Spellman had 19 points in 31 minutes, Phil Booth finished with 17, Donte DiVincenzo had 16 and Jalen Brunson added 14 points.

The win marked the fifth time this season that Villanova has scored at least 90 points in a game. The Wildcats' season high for points scored is 113 on Nov. 14 against Nicholls State.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Shannon Evans II scored 21 points and Tra Holder added 19 as Arizona State dominated from the start.

The Sun Devils (12-0) have been plagued by slow starts in recent games, needing to turn on their guard-driven firepower to pull away from opponents.

Arizona State jumped on Pacific (5-8) early and didn't let the Tigers up, building a 10-point lead in the opening minutes and expanding it from there to extend the best start in school history.

Miles Reynolds and Jack Williams had 13 points each to lead Pacific, which went 3 for 17 from the 3-point arc.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) - J.P. Macura scored 15 points and Xavier hung on for its seventh straight win.

Trevon Bluiett scored 12 points with seven rebounds for the Musketeers (12-1), who went on an 11-2 run down the stretch, highlighted by a 3 by Bluiett, to break open a tie game.

Macura's breakaway dunk and 3 in the final 95 seconds left sealed it for Xavier, which shot 12 of 23 from 3-point range.

Bennett Koch had 26 points for the Panthers (8-4).

No. 11 WICHITA STATE 75, FLORIDA GULF COAST 65

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Landry Shamet scored 23 points for Wichita State.

Shamet was 8 of 12 from the field while the rest of his team went 14 of 44.

Darral Willis finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds for Wichita State (10-2).

Brandon Goodwin scored 20 points to lead Florida Gulf Coast (7-7), and Zach Johnson had 19. Goodwin and Johnson were a combined 15 of 38 from the field.

Among the most notable developments was the season debut of Markis McDuffie, a 6-foot-8 junior who led the Shockers in scoring and rebounding last season. McDuffie missed the first 11 games recovering from a stress fracture in his left foot that required surgery.

McDuffie, who returned to practice this week, had three points and four rebounds in 9 minutes.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Kyle Guy had 15 points, DeAndre Hunter had 14 and Ty Jerome added 10 for Virginia.

The Cavaliers (11-1) held Hampton to 20.6 percent from the field in the second half and bounced back from a cold start on the offensive end. They trailed for 8 minutes in the first half before 3-pointers from Jerome and Nigel Johnson, along with a dunk by Isaiah Wilkins, pulled them even. From there, they went on a 34-10 run wrapped around the halftime break to take control.

Virginia shot 51.5 percent in the second half and outscored Hampton (5-9) 34-10 in the paint.

Jermaine Marrow led Hampton with 11 points.

No. 15 TCU 86, WILLIAM & MARY 75

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Alex Robinson scored a season-high 23 points and TCU set a school record with its nation-leading 17th consecutive win.

Jaylen Fisher had 17 of his career-high 21 points in the second half to send TCU (12-0) into conference play unbeaten for the second time in four seasons. The winning streak includes the last five games of last season, when the Horned Frogs won the NIT championship.

TCU broke the previous school record of 16 straight wins under Billy Tubbs in 1997-98, the last time they made the NCAA Tournament.

Matt Milon was 6 of 11 from long range and scored 22 points for the Tribe.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Trae Young had 31 points and 12 assists for Oklahoma.

Young, the nation's leader in scoring and assists, tied an NCAA record with 22 assists in a 105-68 victory over Northwestern State on Tuesday night. He followed it up by making 9 of 16 shots, including 8 of 13 3-point attempts. He became the first Oklahoma player since Stacey King in 1988-89 to post at least 10 straight games with 20 or more points.

Christian James matched a career high with 19 points and Brady Manek and Jamuni McNeace each added 11 for the Sooners (10-1), who won their eighth straight. The Sooners have scored at least 90 points in eight of their 11 games.

Dererk Pardon had 17 points and nine rebounds for Northwestern (9-5), which had won four straight.

No. 21 TEXAS TECH 74, ABILENE CHRISTIAN 47

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Zach Smith scored 16 points in his first game since not getting to start because of a violation of team rules for Texas Tech.

Texas Tech (11-1) won its fifth straight game and extended its nonconference home winning streak to 38 games, holding the Wildcats to 17 percent shooting (5 of 31) in the first half and 30 percent overall.

Zhaire Smith scored 14 points and Keenan Evans and Justin Gray had 11 apiece in the first meeting between the West Texas schools since Dec. 2, 1957, also in Lubbock. The Red Raiders have won 11 straight in the series, a streak that dates to 1938.

Tevin Foster and Hayden Howell scored nine points each for the Wildcats (8-5), who played their first ranked opponent in 33 years.

3) UCLA extended the suspensions for basketball players Jalen Hill and Cody Riley for this whole season, after they got busted for shoplifting in China along with another player, who has since left the school. Riley had been expected to start for the Bruins, who are 8-3 heading into their game with Kentucky today.

The two kids can practice starting Dec 26, which is a big help to them and also helps the team have better practices. I?m pretty sure this decision was made at the highest level of the school, lot of political ramifications involved.

2) Underrated accomplishment of the year: UAB went 8-5 in football this year, played in the Bahamas Bowl. No big deal, you say?

UAB didn?t field a football team the last two years; the school dropped football to save money, but after an outcry from alumni/public, it was brought back this season. So an expansion team goes 8-5 and gets a bowl invite. Thats very impressive to me.

1) Mentioned briefly yesterday about Dick Enberg passing away; he was at the forefront of the tremendous growth in interest in college basketball? he broadcast the Indiana St-Michigan St game in 1979, the Bird-Magic national championship game.

Working with Billy Packer/Al McGuire, Enberg was the point guard of a great 3-man announce team that taught me so much about college basketball. ESPN then came along and my winters have been filled with basketball ever since.

Mr Enberg called 28 Wimbledons, ten Super Bowls, nine no-hitters and eight Final Fours; he will surely be missed.
