13) Big NBA trade: Clippers dealt Blake Griffin to Detroit for Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic, a 1st-round and a 2nd-round pick. Detroit also gets Brice Johnson and Willie Reed in the deal.

Griffin is on a 5-year, $171M contract that doesn?t have a no-trade clause in it.

12) Griffin?s contract has $150M of guaranteed money in it; no NFL contract has more than $70M guaranteed.

11) There are murmurs that if UConn changes basketball coaches this spring, Bobby Hurley will be one of the names on their list. My question is this and I don?t know what the answer is:

Is UConn a better basketball job than Arizona State? I?m not sure it is.

Hurley is from New Jersey, so coming back east would be a plus for his family, but expectations are very high in the Nutmeg State. Is Hurley in waiting for the Duke job? Mike Krzyzewski is 70, so that job will be opening up in the not-too-distant future.

10) New England Patriots have played in seven Super Bowls under Bill Belichick; obviously, they?re 5-2 in those games, but they also didn?t score in first quarter in any of the seven games.

2) Watching NBA games over the weekend, it dawned on me the immense impact Stephen Curry is having on the game, in a positive way. Curry is so skilled, such a great shooter, and he wasn?t born that way- he?s had to work his butt off to become this great.

That sends a message to kids, that if they work on their skills, they can become great players, too. Size isn?t everything; smaller players can make a big impact, if they put the ball in the hoop.

Instead of practicing useless stuff or just playing an endless amount of meaningless pickup games, more kids are practicing shooting and it is paying off.

**Florida at Georgia**

-- Florida (15-6 straight up, 11-9 against the spread) has won four in a row over UGA and seven of the last eight. UF is 6-2 ATS in the past eight games of this rivalry and 9-3 in the last 12. The Gators needed overtime to slip past the Bulldogs in Gainesville last season. They also caught a break when UGA star Yante Maten fouled out after scoring 15 points in only 19 minutes of playing time. Then in the rematch at UGA, Chris Chiozza led UF to a 72-60 win as a 4.5-point road favorite. Chiozza finished with 15 points, four rebounds, four steals and a pair of assists.

-- Mike White?s team owns a 3-1 record both SU and ATS in four road assignments. The Gators? lone loss on the road came at Ole Miss earlier this month.

-- As of early this morning, most spots had the Gators installed as 2.5-point favorites for Tuesday?s SEC showdown in Athens at Stegeman Coliseum. The total was 137.5 points.

-- Chiozza was the catalyst in UF?s 81-60 win over Baylor on Saturday as a seven-point home ?chalk.? The senior point guard produced 20 points, six rebounds, two steals and six assists compared to merely one turnover. Jalen Hudson added 17 points and Egor Koulechov finished with 16 points and eight rebounds on 3-of-3 shooting from downtown. The Gators hit 14-of-25 launches from 3-point land.

-- After scoring seven points or fewer for four consecutive games, UF junior guard KeVaughn Allen has been in double figures in four straight contests. Nevertheless, he?s still shooting 36.0 percent from the field and 32.7 percent from long distance. On the flip side, redshirt sophomore forward Keith Stone had a spurt of four games in a row scoring in double digits, but he?s been held to single digits in three of UF?s past four outings.

-- Hudson is averaging a team-best 16.5 points per game while hitting 42.2 percent of his 3-pointers. Koulechov is averaging 14.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. After missing two of his five free throws vs. Baylor, the grad transfer from Rice saw his FT shooting percentage drop to 91.8. Chiozza is averaging 12.6 points, 6.1 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. The senior PG has a 129/37 assist-to-turnover ratio and has buried 89.4 percent of his FTs. Allen (11.4 PPG) isn?t slumping at the FT line, making 90.3 percent of his attempts.

-- UF is No. 21 at KenPom.com and N. 35 in the RPI Rankings. The Gators have four Top 50 and six Top 100 wins that didn?t come in Gainesville on their home floor. They are 5-3 against the Top 50 and blew late second-half leads in losses to Duke (87-84 in Portland) and Clemson (71-69 in Sunrise, FL.). White?s team is 9-6 versus the Top 100. UF has won at Texas A&M, at Missouri and at Kentucky, in addition to neutral-court scalps of Gonzaga and Stanford.

-- Georgia (12-8 SU, 9-8 ATS) is in desperation mode here after losing five its past six games. The latest gut-wrenching loss for Mark Fox?s ninth team came Saturday at Kansas St., where the Wildcats finished the game on a 12-2 run to rally past the Bulldogs for a 56-51 win. UGA covered the spread as a seven-point road underdog. Fox?s team scored only one bucket in the final seven minutes of the game. Yante Maten finished with 14 points, five rebounds and one blocked shot, but his teammates did a piss-poor job of getting him the ball, particularly a few times when reserve guard Tyree Crump passed on entry passes when Maten had advantageous position on the post. Juwan Parker had 11 points and six rebounds, but he committed four turnovers and made only 1-of-6 treys. Derek Ogbeide played well in 28 minutes, contributing 10 points, eight rebounds and one block while converting 5-of-7 field-goal attempts.

-- UGA?s Rayshaun Hammonds had another dismal offensive performance at Kansas State. The true freshman forward, who was a four-star recruit, scored three points and went 1-of-7 from the field against the Wildcats. Hammonds (6.5 PPG, 5.0 RPG) had been held scoreless in three of the four previous games. If Fox?s team is going to snap out of its recent slump, it?s going to need more out of Hammonds.

-- UGA is 8-2 SU and 4-3 ATS at home this year.

--Fox has taken UGA to two NCAA Tournaments and three NIT?s in his first eight seasons, but he?s yet to win a Tournament game. Most feel he needs to get this team to the Tournament to see a 10th season. Therefore, the pressure is on.

-- Georgia?s current three-game losing streak started at Auburn two Saturdays ago, when UGA led the Tigers by 14 at halftime. The second half belonged to Bruce Pearl?s team, though, and AU won by double digits. Then last Tuesday, the Bulldogs lost at home to Arkansas in double overtime.

-- Georgia is No. 56 in the RPI Rankings, going 4-4 versus the Top 50 and 6-6 versus the Top 100. The Bulldogs have wins at Marquette, at LSU, at CS-Fullerton and vs. Saint Mary?s out in California. They also have lopsided home victories over Temple (by 18), Alabama (by 19) and Ole Miss (by 11).

-- Maten is one of the nation?s premier players. The senior power forward is averaging 19.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 blocked shots per game. Maten is shooting at a career-best 84.6 percent clip from the free-throw line. No other UGA players are averaging double figures. Juwan Parker and Turtle Jackson have their moments, but neither has emerged as a consistent second scorer that can be counted on. Howard did score 17 points in last season?s OT loss at UF.

-- In Joe Lunardi?s latest edition of ?Bracketology? that was posted Monday at ESPN.com, Georgia was a part of his Next Four Out.

-- Georgia plays outstanding defense, ranking sixth in the nation in field-goal percentage defense (38.7%). The Bulldogs are 40th in the country at defending the 3-point line (31.4%) and 41st in scoring ?D? (66.0 PPG).

-- The ?under? is 8-1 in UGA?s past nine games. The lone ?over? appeared in the double-overtime loss to Arkansas when the combined score was still ?under? the total at the end of the first extra session. UGA has seen the ?under? go 11-6 overall, but the ?over? is 4-3 in its home games.

-- The ?over? has hit in back-to-back UF games to improve to 11-8 overall, 2-2 in its road assignments.

-- The SEC Network will have the telecast at 7:00 p.m. Eastern, with Tom Hart and Jon Sunvold on the call.

**Baylor at Oklahoma**

-- As of early this morning, most books had Oklahoma (15-5 SU, 8-11 ATS) listed as a 7.5-point favorite with a total of 156.5.

-- Lon Kruger?s squad is in bounce-back mode after dropping an 80-73 decision Saturday at Alabama in a pick ?em affair. Trae Young was limited to five points in the first half and 17 for the game. On the day of his lowest scoring output since OU?s season opener, the freshman point guard had eight assists compared to five turnovers. Khadeem Lattin had 18 points, seven rebounds and two blocks, while Rashard Odomes finished with 15 points and seven boards.

-- Young leads the nation in scoring (29.6 PPG) and assists (9.6 APG). The homegrown Norman product is averaging a team-high 2.0 steals per game and is knocking down 40.2 percent of his 3-balls. Christian James and Brady Manek are also averaging in double figures with 11.8 and 11.3 PPG averages, respectively. Lattin (8.0 PPG, 6.5 RPG) is averaging team-bests in rebounding (6.4 RPG), FG percentage (61.5%) and blocks (2.2 BPG).

-- OU is No. 12 in the latest Associated Press Top 25, No. 12 in the RPI and No. 22 at KenPom.com. The Sooners are 6-3 against the RPI Top 50 and 9-5 versus the Top 100. They own home wins over Kansas, TCU, Texas Tech, Northwestern and Oklahoma St., in addition to neutral-court victories over Oregon and USC. Oklahoma also has wins at Wichita St. and at TCU.

-- With its 5-3 record, Oklahoma is in a three-way tie for second place in the Big 12 standings. OU, WVU and Texas Tech are 1.5 games behind league-leading Kansas, which won at Kansas St. last night to improve to 7-2 in conference play.

-- Oklahoma is unbeaten in 10 home games with a 5-4 spread record.

-- OU leads the nation in scoring with a 90.3 PPG average.

-- Baylor (12-9 SU, 7-7 ATS) is No. 85 in the RPI, limping to a 2-7 record against the Top 50 and a 3-8 mark versus the Top 100. The Bears have home wins over Oklahoma St. and Texas, in addition to a neutral-court triumph over Creighton.

-- Baylor is going through a rare rebuilding campaign. Scott Drew has built this program into a perennial contender that has been to four consecutive NCAA Tournaments, five of the past six and seven in the last 10 years. The Bears have been to the Sweet 16 four times under Drew, and they?ve been to a pair of Elite Eight?s and won the NIT in 2013.

-- Baylor is winless in six road assignments with a 2-4 spread record.

-- Baylor is 3-5 ATS with one outright win (over Wisconsin on a neutral floor) in eight games as an underdog.

-- In Saturday?s loss at UF, Terry Maston paced Baylor with a team-high 14 points and six rebounds. Manu Lecomte scored 10 points, but he was held 6.5 points below his team-leading 16.5 PPG average. The Gators held Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. to nine points and five rebounds without a blocked shot. Lual-Acuil is averaging 15.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.9 BPG.

-- The ?over? is 12-7 overall for the Sooners, 6-3 in their home games. However, the ?under? has cashed in four straight games for OU and six of its past seven.

-- The ?under? is 9-4-1 overall for the Bears, 5-1 in their road contests. This is the highest total they?ve seen this season. In fact, Baylor?s had only one game with a total in the 150s, with the 124 combined points stayed ?under? the 154-point tally in a win over Creighton.

-- ESPN2 will provide the telecast at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.

**B.E.?s Bonus Nuggets**

-- Nebraska is 12-1 ATS in its past 13 games after winning 74-63 Monday at Wisconsin as a four-point underdog. The Cornhuskers rallied from an 11-point second-half deficit with 9:57 left to hook up money-line supporters with a +160 payout. They went on a 13-0 run to take the lead and coasted to their fourth win in five games. James Palmer Jr. led Nebraska with 28 points and Glynn Watson Jr. finished with 15 points, two rebounds, one steal, one crucial block shot and six assists without a turnover. Ethan Happ had 25 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and four blocked shots, but he made only 8-of-19 FTAs.

-- Michigan came out flat and trailed 19-11 before finishing the first half on a 10-0 run vs. Northwestern last night. The Wolverines went on to win 58-47 as 7.5-point favorites, while gamblers on the ?under? cashed easily when the 105 combined points dropped below the 133.5-point tally. Charles Matthews led the way with 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

-- In addition to Baylor at OU, there are fourth other televised games that tip at 9:00 p.m. Eastern tonight. Ole Miss hosts Auburn on the SEC Network, Minnesota is at Iowa on the Big Ten Network, Kentucky hosts Vandy at Rupp Arena on ESPN and Arkansas is at Texas A&M on ESPNU.

-- Since starting the season with a deplorable 1-14 spread record, Vandy has ripped off three straight spread covers. The Commodores were 10.5-point road underdogs to UK early this morning. Bryce Drew?s team is winless in six road games with a 2-4 spread record. John Calipari?s squad is 12-1 SU and 5-8 ATS at home. Vandy beat TCU on Saturday as a short home underdog, while the ?Cats rallied from 17 down in the second half to win 83-76 at West Virginia as 10.5-point ?dogs.

-- Most spots had Texas A&M favored by five vs. Arkansas early this morning. The Aggies are 9-2 SU but just 2-6 ATS at home. The Razorbacks have limped to a 1-4 spread record both SU and ATS in five road games. Mike Anderson?s team has won three straight games and four of its past five, but it is mired in a 1-8 ATS slump. Arkansas has beaten the Aggies in three straight head-to-head meetings both SU and ATS.

-- Auburn is a 4.5-point road favorite tonight at Ole Miss. When these teams met at Auburn Arena on Jan. 9, the Rebels led 45-35 at halftime. The Tigers rallied to not only win 85-70, but they also covered the spread as double-digit favorites (-12). DeSean Murray led six AU players in double figures with 16 points and eight rebounds. Bruce Pearl?s squad had lost 10 in a row to Ole Miss before the comeback victory. We should note that the Rebels played without their leading scorer, Deandre Burnett, who was out with an ankle injury. Burnett is averaging team-highs in scoring (15.2 PPG), and assists (4.5 APG). Ole Miss is 10-3 SU and 7-5 ATS at home, while Auburn is 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS on the road. The Rebels have seen the ?under? go 8-2 in their past 10 games.

-- Andy Kennedy is the dean of SEC coaches in his 12th season at Ole Miss. I was somewhat shocked to see that Kennedy is now 18th on the SEC?s all-time wins list and is just four victories behind the legendary Nolan Richardson.

No. 20 Clemson ends skid vs UNC, tops No. 19 Tar Heels

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) Marcquise Reed had 20 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer after No. 20 Clemson blew a 16-point lead, and the Tigers ended a 10-game losing streak to North Carolina with an 82-78 victory over the 19th-ranked Tar Heels.

The Tigers (18-4, 7-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) were up 44-28 at the half and looked like they would cruise to their first win over the Tar Heels (16-7, 5-5) since January 2010. Instead, Cameron Johnson and Joel Berry II rallied UNC back, with Berry's jumper tying it at 74 with 2:03 to play.

That's when Reed struck with his 3 from the left side to put Clemson ahead for good. Reed rebounded Johnson's miss moments later, and Elijah Thomas made an inside shot to go up 79-74.

North Carolina has its first three-game losing streak since the 2013-14 season.

NO. 6 XAVIER 73, ST. JOHN'S 68

NEW YORK (AP) - Trevon Bluiett scored 14 points to lead No. 6 Xavier over St. John's.

Bluiett was one of four players in double-figure scoring for the Musketeers (20-3, 8-2 Big East). Kerem Kanter and Quentin Goodin each had 13 points, and J.P. Macura added 11.

Despite a 31-point performance from Shamorie Ponds, the Red Storm (10-13, 0-11) dropped their 11th straight. Marvin Clark II added 19 points, and Bashir Ahmed had 12.

In the final 2:29, Bluiett made four free throws, and Kanter and Kasier Gates each converted layups. Kanter was aided by a defensive goaltending call on Tariq Owens, which led St. John's coach Chris Mullin to complain to senior associate commissioner Stu Jackson after the game.

NO. 11 AUBURN 79, MISSISSIPPI 70

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Bryce Brown scored 19 of his 23 points in the second half to lead No. 11 Auburn over Mississippi.

Auburn (20-2, 8-1 Southeastern Conference) beat Ole Miss for the second time this season. Brown made 9 of 16 shots from the field, including three 3-pointers.

Mustapha Heron added 16 points for the Tigers. Jared Harper had 13 points and seven assists.

Ole Miss (11-11, 4-5) lost for the first time at home during conference play. The Rebels were led by Deandre Burnett, who scored 16 points. Terence Davis, Markel Crawford and Devontae Shuler each added 11.

NO. 12 OKLAHOMA 98, BAYLOR 96

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Trae Young scored 31 of his 44 points in the second half to help No. 12 Oklahoma hold off Baylor.

Young, a freshman guard who leads the nation in scoring and assists, made 11 of 20 field goals and 16 of 19 free throws. It was his fourth game this season with at least 40 points, and the third time in the past six games he has scored that many.

Rashard Odomes scored 18 points, Brady Manek had 16 and Khadeem Lattin added 15 for the Sooners (16-5, 6-3 Big 12).

Manu Lecomte scored 29 points and Nuni Omot scored 23 for Baylor (12-10, 2-7), which lost its fourth straight.

NO. 17 OHIO STATE 71, INDIANA 56

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Jae'Sean Tate scored 16 points and No. 17 Ohio State took control early in cruising to a win over Indiana.

Kaleb Wesson added 14 points and Keita Bates-Diop had 13 points and 13 rebounds as the Buckeyes (19-5, 10-1 Big Ten) bounced back from last week's buzzer-beater loss to Penn State that dropped them three places in the AP Top 25 poll.

Devonte Green scored 20 for the Hoosiers (12-11, 5-6), who have lost three in a row and four of five. Indiana, playing its fourth game in eight days, shot just 36.4 percent from the floor after hitting better than 50 percent of its shots the past three games.

The Hoosiers struggled on defense, too. They had trouble stopping Wesson when he went to the basket in the lane. Ohio State scored 40 points in the paint.

NO. 21 KENTUCKY 83, VANDERBILT 81, OT

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Quade Green's layup with five seconds remaining gave No. 21 Kentucky an overtime victory against Vanderbilt.

Kentucky (17-5, 6-3 Southeastern Conference) overcame a 57-46 deficit with 9 + minutes left to tie it on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's two free throws with three seconds left. The freshman then opened OT with a jumper, PJ Washington made two free throws and Kevin Knox hit a 3-pointer for a 78-74 lead.

Vanderbilt (8-14, 2-7) rallied for a 79-78 edge before Knox finished a three-point play, and that was answered by Clevon Brown's layup. After Green found open space for the winning layup, Peyton Willis fired a 3-pointer that bounced off the rim and sparked a dog pile at midcourt for the Wildcats.

Gilgeous-Alexander scored a career-high 30 points for Kentucky, while Knox had 18 and Green 12.

NO. 22 RHODE ISLAND 85, MASSACHUSETTS 83

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - Jeff Dowtin had 19 points and 10 assists, and No. 22 Rhode Island escaped with a win over Massachusetts after the Minutemen botched an intentional missed free throw in the final seconds.

The Rams (18-3, 10-0 Atlantic 10) led by three with 1.8 seconds left when UMass' Luwane Pipkins went to the free-throw line. Pipkins made the first shot and missed the second on purpose, but he was called for a lane violation while grabbing the rebound after throwing the ball off the front of the rim.

Rhode Island has won 13 straight games.

Jared Terrell led the Rams with 21 points and fueled a 21-2 run in the first half, capped by E.C. Matthews' 3-pointer with under eight minutes left. Rhode Island led 44-41 at halftime.

Pipkins paced the Minutemen (10-13, 3-7) with 27 points. He came in as the A-10's third-leading scorer at 19.9 points per game.

GEORGIA 72, NO. 23 FLORIDA 60

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Yante Maten scored 20 points and Georgia recovered after blowing a halftime lead to beat No. 23 Florida.

Florida (15-7, 6-3 Southeastern Conference) began the night in second place in the SEC, one game behind No. 11 Auburn.

Georgia (13-8, 4-5) had lost three straight and five of six.

The Gators recovered after trailing 37-32 at halftime to lead 48-43. Florida opened the second half with a 12-2 run that included two 3-pointers by Jalen Hudson and a jam by KeVaughn Allen for a 44-39 edge.

Georgia regrouped and led 55-51 following a three-point play by Maten and stretched the lead to 60-53 on a 3-pointer by Maten.

Wednesday?s List of 13: Mid-week musings??

13) West Virginia?s basketball team got thrown under the bus by their athletic department when the school joined the Big X six years ago.

You look at their nine basketball road trips; the closest Big X rival to Morgantown is Iowa State, which is 860 miles away. Lot of long road trips in the cold of winter, all so the football team would have a good league to play in. Hope it is worth it.

Basketball team would?ve been fine playing in the Big East or the A-14, or even the ACC. Look at a map and plot the 10 teams in the Big X; it is weird to see how far West Virginia is from everyone else.

12) Two things about the Blake Griffin-to-Detroit trade:
a) I wouldn?t be too eager to trade with any team Jerry West works for (Clippers)
b) Blake Griffin has missed 84 games the last three years, and this year isn?t over.

11) 18 players on the Patriots? 53-man roster are undrafted players, which is a lot. Eagles have nine undrafted players on their roster.

10) There is a new Arena Football team here in Albany this spring; 300 people showed up for an open tryout Saturday, at an indoor facility in Halfmoon. Wonder if any of them will make the squad, which starts play April 14.

Think it might actually be harder to make an Arena League team as a walk-on, since there really aren?t special teams the way there are in the NFL.

9) Jacksonville QB Blake Bortles played all season with a wrist injury that needs surgery; the team knew this before the season? looks like Bortles will play for $19M next year, the $$ the Jaguars to give him if he is on the roster March 14.

8) Washington Wizards star John Wall is having his knee scoped, will be out 6-8 weeks. Right now, Wizards are #6 seed in the East- can they stay there?

7) I?m a big fan of the TV show Suits on USA Network; one of the actresses on the show is a woman named Meghan Markle who will soon marry Prince Harry in England, so she?s leaving the show after this spring?s episodes.

Read Tuesday that Patrick Adams will also leave the show after this season; his character (Mike) is one of the two main characters in the show, so interesting to see how they?ll proceed moving forward.

6) Former New Mexico basketball player Hugh Greenwood now plays Australian Rules Football for the Adelaide Crows in the AFL. Tough sport.

5) Carolina Hurricanes just got sold to a guy who says the team might play some games in Hartford Whalers throwback uniforms? the Hurricanes moved to Raleigh from Hartford 21 years ago. Whalers had green uniforms with an awesome logo; this is a good idea.

4) Doug Pederson is bringing Brett Favre in to speak to the Eagles Saturday night. Pederson was Favre?s backup for seven years in Green Bay.

3) Milwaukee is the smallest TV market in the major leagues; they averaged 31,282 fans a game last year because they were smart enough to build a retractable dome in a cold-weather city, so fans don?t have to suffer while they?re watching the game.

2) Arkansas is paying former football coach Bret Bielema $11,395,000 as a going away present; if he gets 36 monthly payments thru 2020, that works out to $316,527.78 a month.

1? I?d be remiss if I didn?t point out that Tuesday was the 18th anniversary of the greatest NFL game ever played: Rams 23, Titans 16 in Super Bowl XXXIV.

Think about Falcons-Patriots last year and SB XXXIV was a similar game, except the team that stormed back from behind fell just short of winning??thank God.

Wednesday?s 13 most interesting college basketball games

LSU lost four of its last five games; they?re 2-2 on SEC road, losing by 6 at Vandy, 25 at Auburn. Tigers are 4-3 vs top 50 teams. Tennessee won six of its last seven games, allowing 56.7 ppg in winning their last three; they won last three home games, by 11-13-5 points. Tennessee/LSU split their last six meetings; Tigers lost three of last four visits to Knoxville, losing by 22-10-16 points. LSU is 8-11 in last 19 games as road underdogs; under Barnes, Vols are 6-5 as home favorites, 2-2 this season. SEC home favorites are 21-19 vs spread.

Cincinnati is 8-0 in AAC games, winning its four home games by 34-20-26-33 points; they covered five of last six games overall. Bearcats are forcing turnovers 23% of time in AAC play. Houston won four of its last five games; they?re they?re 5-2 vs top 100 teams, 2-2 on AAC road, losing by 18 at Wichita, 9 at Tulane. **Louisville at Virginia**

-- Virginia (20-1 straight up, 14-4 against the spread) falls into a letdown scenario tonight when it hosts Louisville. I say that because UVA is off a thrilling 65-63 win at Duke as a 3.5-point road underdog. Ty Jerome buried a deep and crucial trey to extend the Cavaliers lead to five with 37.6 seconds left. After Duke?s Marvin Bagley III responded with a 3-pointer, UVA?s Kyle Guy was sent to the free-throw line with six seconds remaining. He sank both attempts at the stripe to finish with a team-best 17 points. Devon Hall added 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists with one turnover, while Jerome contributed 13 points, five rebounds, three steals and seven assists compared to merely one turnover.

-- As of early this morning, most books had Tony Bennett?s team listed as a 9.5-point home favorite with a total of 123.

-- Guy is scoring at a team-high 15.2 points-per-game clip. The junior guard is enjoying a breakout campaign, draining 41.3 percent of his 3-pointers and 88.1 percent of his free-throw attempts. Hall (12.7 PPG, 4.3 RPG) has a stellar 66/21 assist-to-turnover ratio, and he?s hit 46.2 percent of his 3?s and 93.0 percent of his FTs. Jerome (9.5 PPG) has a 71/34 assist-to-turnover ratio, makes 41.7 percent of his trifectas and 94.1 percent of his FTs. Isaiah Wilkins, a senior forward, is averaging 6.2 PPG, 6.6 RPG and has a team-best 34 blocked shots.

-- UVA is undefeated in 13 home games with a 7-3 spread record.

-- Virginia is No. 1 in the RPI Rankings and No. 2 at both KenPom.com and in the latest Associated Press Top 25. UVA has a 5-1 record against the RPI Top 50 and a 9-1 mark versus the Top 100. The Cavs have home wins over the likes of North Carolina, Syracuse, Clemson, Boston College and North Carolina State. They own road triumphs at Duke, at Va. Tech and at VCU, in addition to a neutral-court scalp of Rhode Island.

-- Virginia is ranked tops in the nation in scoring defense, holding opponents to an average of 52.1 PPG. The Cavs are third in field-goal percentage defense (37.0%) and fifth at defending the 3-point line (29.1%).

-- Louisville (16-5 SU, 11-8 ATS) has lost four of its six road games, but it has produced profit for its backers with a 4-2 ATS mark. The Cardinals have a pair of outright road losses in overtime, including setbacks at Miami (78-75) and at Clemson (74-69), but they took the cash in both of those spots.

-- Louisville bounced back from the OT loss in Coral Gables with Saturday?s 96-77 win over Wake Forest as a nine-point home ?chalk.? V.J. King and Quentin Snider scored 15 points apiece to pace the Cardinals, who got 14 points, four rebounds and four assists out of Deng Adel. Dwayne Sutton scored 13 points for the winners, who had a 20/7 assist-to-turnover ratio.

-- Adel is averaging 15.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, while Snider (13.1 PPG) has an 85/35 assist-to-turnover ratio. Raymond Spalding (11.0 PPG, 9.2 RPG) averages 1.6 steals and 2.1 blocked shots per game.

-- Louisville is No. 20 in the RPI with a 1-5 record against the Top 50 and a 5-5 mark versus the Top 100. The Cardinals picked up their lone Top 50 win when they rallied from a double-digit halftime deficit to win 73-69 at FSU on Jan. 10. They also have home wins over Boston College, Virginia Tech and Southern Illinois, in addition to a victory at Notre Dame.

-- U of L hasn?t been beaten in regulation since taking a 90-61 loss at Kentucky on Dec. 29.

-- The ?over? is 4-0-1 in U of L?s past five games to improve to 10-7-2 overall and 4-2 in its road outings.

**Arizona at Washington State**

-- As of early this morning, most spots had Arizona (18-4 SU, 7-13 ATS) installed as an 11.5-point favorite with a total of 151.5.

-- Sean Miller?s team is 5-1 SU and 3-3 ATS in six road assignments.

-- Arizona's Allonzo Trier is averaging a team-high 19.7 PPG while hitting 40.2 percent of his 3-balls. DeAndre Ayton (19.5 PPG) paces UA in rebounding (10.7 RPG), FG percentage (61.9%) and blocked shots (1.8 BPG).

-- Arizona brings a six-game winning streak to Pullman, but Miller?s team is mired in an abysmal 1-6 ATS slump. The Wildcats haven?t tasted defeat since dropping an 80-77 decision at Colorado as nine-point road favorites on Jan. 6. They?re off a 74-73 win over Utah as 8.5-point home ?chalk.? UA raced out to a 14-4 lead, led by 10 at intermission and spent most of the first 32 minutes ahead of the number vs. the Utes. However, Utah took the outright lead with less than four minutes remaining, only to eventually come up short. Dusan Ristic scored 23 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots. Trier finished with 16 points, five assists and four rebounds, while Ayton chipped in 15 points, eight boards and a pair of rejections. Parker Jackson-Cartwright had 12 points and six assists.

-- Arizona is ranked ninth in the latest AP poll and 14th in the RPI. The Wildcats are 5-1 versus the RPI Top 50 and 9-4 against the Top 100. They have home wins over Alabama, Arizona St., Utah, UConn, Oregon and Colorado. In addition, UA has a neutral-court victory over Texas A&M and road triumphs at Utah and at Stanford.

-- Arizona is ranked seventh in the nation in FG percentage (50.9%), 11th in FT percentage (77.9%), 33rd in 3-point accuracy (39.2%) and 34th in scoring (81.7 PPG).

-- Alabama is off the biggest win of Avery Johnson?s three-year tenure in Saturday?s 80-73 triumph over Oklahoma in a pick ?em affair. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) Kyle Guy scored 22 points and No. 2 Virginia held off hot-shooting Louisville to win its 13th straight, 74-64 on Wednesday night.

Ty Jerome added 16 points and Devon Hall 12 for the Cavaliers (21-1, 10-0 Atlantic Coast Conference). Virginia's start is its best in ACC play since the 1980-81 team won its first 12 games. The winning streak is its longest since winning 19 in a row to begin the 2014-15 season.

Ray Spalding scored 16 points and Deng Adel had 15 points for the Cardinals (16-6, 6-3). Louisville made nine of 10 shots at one point down the stretch, closing to within 62-57 on a long 3-pointer by Ryan McMahon with 3:44 left, but Jerome answered with back-to-back 3s for the Cavaliers.

No. 3 PURDUE 75, MARYLAND 67

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Isaac Haas had 20 points and nine rebounds, Carsen Edwards scored 17 points and No. 3 Purdue pulled away from Maryland to extend the nation's longest active winning streak to 18.

The Boilermakers (22-2, 11-0 Big Ten) also continued their best conference start in school history, broke another school record with their 13th consecutive win over a league foe and still won their 21st straight home game. Only Cincinnati (38) has a longer home-court streak.

Bruno Fernando finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Maryland (15-9, 4-7). Kevin Huerter had 16 points and four 3s for the Terrapins, who have lost three straight with the last two coming to top-10 teams.

No. 5 MICHIGAN ST. 76, PENN ST. 68

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Miles Bridges had 23 points and nine rebounds, helping Michigan State come back from a double-digit deficit to beat Penn State.

The Spartans (21-3, 9-2 Big Ten) rallied to win after trailing by 12 with 15:23 left after coming back from 13-point deficit to win their previous game at Maryland.

Cassius Winston made a go-ahead layup midway through the second half and Michigan State led by as much as 15.

The Nittany Lions (15-9, 5-6) had won two straight, including a buzzer-beater at Ohio State, and they didn't give up their winning streak easily. They went on an 11-2 run to pull within six points with 37 seconds left after Tony Carr made consecutive 3-pointers in 6 seconds. Carr just missed a 3-pointer with 19 seconds left.

No. 8 CINCINNATI 80, HOUSTON 70

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) - Jacob Evans III scored 18 points, hitting the pivotal shots during Cincinnati's rally from an 18-point deficit, and the Bearcats extended the nation's longest home-court winning streak by beating Houston.

After trailing 33-15, the Bearcats (20-2, 9-0 American Athletic) closed out the first half with a flourish that featured Evans' steal and banked-in 3-pointer at the buzzer. His 3 gave Cincinnati its first lead of the second half.

Cincinnati has won 13 in a row since back-to-back losses against Xavier and Florida, the only ranked teams it has played. The Bearcats have won 38 straight home games, the longest active streak.

Houston (16-5, 6-3) couldn't get a breakthrough win in the series. The Cougars fell to 0-16 on the Bearcats' home court and 2-30 overall against Cincinnati.

No. 9 ARIZONA 100, WASHINGTON ST. 72

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Deandre Ayton scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Allonzo Trier added 24 points as Arizona beat cold-shooting Washington State to remain in first place in the Pac-12.

Rawle Alkins scored 16 points for Arizona (19-4, 9-1 Pac-12), which has won seven games in a row. The Wildcats have lost just one time since Nov. 24.

Robert Franks scored 25 points for Washington State (9-12, 1-8), which has dropped 13 in a row to Arizona. It was the Cougars' first home game since Jan. 13.

Arizona shot 61 percent in the game, while Washington State managed just 41 percent, and was only up that high because of a late spurt.

No. 10 TEXAS TECH 73, TEXAS 71, OT

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Keenan Evans scored a career-high 38 points, including the winning jumper to beat the buzzer in overtime, and Texas Tech beat Texas.

After missing a potential winning free throw with 3.4 seconds left in regulation, Evans scored six points in overtime. His winning 18-foot jumper from atop the key came after the Longhorns tied the game on a banked 3-pointer by Kerwin Roach, who led Texas with 20 points. Evans put the Red Raiders (18-4, 6-3 Big 12) ahead with a layup less than minute into overtime. Then on the ensuing possession, after grabbing a defensive rebound, Evans was fouled and made two free throws.

Texas (14-8, 4-5) overcame a 13-point deficit in the final 13 minutes of regulation and led 64-59 on a free throw by Roach with 1:25 left. But the Longhorns didn't score again in regulation, and Roach then had all seven of their overtime points.

IOWA ST. 93, No. 15 WEST VIRGINIA 77

AMES, Iowa (AP) - Donovan Jackson scored 25 points, Lindell Wigginton added 22 and Iowa State upset West Virginia, sending the short-handed Mountaineers to their fifth loss in six games.

Cameron Lard scored 18 points with 13 rebounds for the Cyclones (12-9, 3-6 Big 12). They took advantage of the absence of West Virginia's Daxter Miles Jr. (illness) by handing the Mountaineers (16-6, 5-4) their biggest defeat since a 23-point blowout at the hands of Texas A&M in the opener.

The Cyclones had West Virginia playing catch-up from the opening tip. The Mountaineers caught them just once - but were never able to overtake them.

No. 18 TENNESSEE 84, LSU 61

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - James Daniel III scored 17 points off the bench to continue his recent surge as Tennessee trounced LSU for its fourth consecutive victory.

With nine games remaining in the regular season, Tennessee (16-5, 6-3 SEC) already has matched its 2016-17 win total. Tennessee went 16-16 last year and failed to earn an NCAA Tournament or NIT bid for a third straight season.

Tennessee has won seven of its last eight games while LSU (12-9, 3-6) has lost five of its last six.

Daniel shot 5 of 7 from 3-point range and matched a season high in scoring. Tennessee shot 12 of 25 on 3-pointers as a team.
