gambling is a fascinating preoccupation, if only for the blending of methodicalness and impulsiveness. last night i labored over, played and posted western carolina -6-, a game i consder an example of my methods at their best. shortly after, i followed that play and post with two plays thought out half as well, on two teams outside my conferences of focus. i promise not to do that again. on to tonight.
furman -2-: looks like a tough spot for bobby's team. in the last week, they've played @ tenn (big win), morehead (big loss), and @ furman tonight. saturday they play at wofford. cremins is got to feel challenged to prep for a tough paladin (my favorite nickname) team in greenville. furman is going to pound the ball in side on the cougars, and fouling will be an issue for a coc team that is not that strong on the boards. furman shoots over 77% from the line at home, making a whopping 23.7 of 30.7 attempts. thiis is not the game the cougars want to play, especially with the terriers on deck.
also:
uncg +4- : doesn't get any uglier than this one. the 0-13 spartans finally get a spot and team where they have a chance for a win, and i believe they'll be all about getting off the schneid against a team ranked 296th offensively. also, can't ignore that eight of uncg's losses came against six acc teams, vcu and richmond - kind of a statskewer. don't get me wrong, i like the sammies on occasion back in alabama, but not on the road on the front end of a three day conference road swing. spartans have been off since the 29th to point to this win.
