No, its not a coincidence. It's a fact.
All NBA players prior to entering the league take a training course to get ready for the league.
It is there that they learn how to dress the bling bling, father illegitimate children and not support them, AND add and subtract in REAL TIME so they make sure they don't mess up what spread or total they were told before the game to land on. Its a very complicated course and requires a lot of time and energy to teach multi millionaires to add in real time.
It's still the best sport to bet on imo, because there is much less guesswork. Find the side the players are on.
