Colorado (9-12) at Oklahoma State (10-11)

GAME NOTES: A pair of teams tied for last place in the Big 12 standings lock horns in Stillwater tonight, as the Colorado Buffaloes challenge the Oklahoma State Cowboys at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Buffaloes head into the contest on the decline, as they have dropped five straight and seven of their past eight outings. The team was last in play on Saturday, when it was downed, 72-59, by nationally-ranked Kansas. With the loss, Colorado dipped to 9-12 overall and 1-6 in conference play. OSU owns the same league record as the Buffaloes, but with a win tonight, one program will pull itself out of the Big 12 cellar for the time being. Since opening conference play with a victory at home, the Cowboys have dropped six straight outings, including a 67-60 setback at Texas Tech on Saturday. Now at 10-11 overall, the team heads back home, where it has logged a solid 9-2 mark. OSU leads the all-time series with Colorado, 57-46, and that includes a 25-10 mark when playing in Stillwater.

The Buffaloes were outscored at the foul line, 21-6, and dominated on the boards, 34-21, as they were defeated by Kansas over the weekend. The team hit on 44.0 percent of its field goals, but Kansas shot an even better 53.3 percent from the floor. Richard Roby paced Colorado in the setback with 22 points and six boards, while Marcus Hall posted 13 points and five assists. For the season, Roby ranks as the team's top scorer (16.8 ppg) and rebounder (6.5 rpg) and he is also shooting 41.3 percent from beyond the arc. Hall is second in order with 12.6 ppg and 4.1 rpg, and he leads the way with 3.9 apg. Xavier Silas chips in with 10.2 ppg for Colorado, which is averaging just 62.4 ppg on 45.0 percent shooting from the floor.

The Cowboys were held to a sub par 36.4 percent shooting effort from the field, including a poor 6-of-31 showing from long range, as they were beat by Texas Tech this past weekend. The team was also dominated on the boards, 40-28, and that includes a 13-7 difference on the offensive glass. Ibrahima Thomas notched a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead OSU, while James Anderson and Terrel Harris chipped in 12 points apiece. For the season, Anderson leads the Cowboys with 14.8 ppg and he is draining 38.4 percent of his long distance shots. Harris is second in line with 10.6 ppg and 4.6 rpg, and Marcus Dove contributes 10.1 ppg and a team-high 5.9 rpg. Overall, OSU is turning in 69.8 ppg while making good on 43.1 percent of its attempts from the field.

Neither club has had much success, but this is a good chance for one team to move up in the standings. OSU has the luxury of playing this game at home and that should help it score the victory tonight.
