I expect a majority of blacks to vote for obama( baised just on race alone) so I wouldnt expect anything different from powell.

Are you going to denounce the 90+% of blacks who voted for Obama in the primary as being racist as well? Or is that card only played one way?:0corn :0corn :0corn

Yeah, thats why Al Sharpton made such a strong run....because "blacks" just want a "black guy" in office, not one that actually makes sense or has a few good ideas on how to help and try to get Americas respect and dignity back. Oh, forgot to mention no "black" would ever vote for a "whiteguy"...just look up the stats on the last 10 elections...since there were no "black" canidates none of them voted. I see atleast 2 people that will be pissed when Obama is sworn in.

I suppose I could denounce the blacks who voted for Obama ONLY because he is black if that was their only reason. However, I could understand it somewhat, it would definitely change a person's outlook on life and what could happen for you, being a black person, and applying yourself, if that person broke a barrier that most here and elsewhere less than a decade ago would have thought either impossible or far off in the future. I do think it's different than a white person at this stage of history voting for a white against a black just because of that reason.

I do think voting FOR someone who is your same race to be more understandable than simply voting against someone because their race is different from yours. A fine line, but I do think a distinction can be made. I'm sure you don't allow for that, but that wouldn't be anything new for us.

But to your point, I think that anyone who basis their main vote on the color of a person's skin to be wrong, blacks included. I do understand it more, all things considered, though. Don't know if that can help you finish your popcorn or not, but the best I can do for you, Freeze.

Well, its acceptable but it misses the boat I feel.

I find it ironic how racism is played over and over by the media but they completely ignored it in the primaries after Clinton and Obama virtually had the same policies.

Even Slick Willy was confounded by this.

I think Chad pretty much covered this, but I don't think people understand the impact of race in this election. If you think Obama getting the black vote is more powerful than McCain getting the white vote (simply based on race) you are living in LaLa Land. The number of white people voting against a black candidate will DWARF the number of blacks voting for a black candidate.

Some of you guys just don't get it...and your ignorant posts prove it.

Did I mention the word surprise even once? It was a simple statement.

Typical GOP supporter. Make up want you want to hear or say & consider it truthful and accurate.

Turncoat...now that is funny. :mj07: He's probably just some dumb black guy to you eh?

Sorry Gary but going to have to chastise you on this bit of deception--But if you want to use # of people vs %

it is equally true the # of white people voting for a black candidate will also dwarf the # of black people voting for black candidate??

Now if you want to get to fair comparison--

We can certainly wager on % of white people voting for white candidate vs % of black people voting for black candidate--but I doubt you want to go there :)

Are you one of those yelling out 'Kill him' 'Lynch him" & 'Nigger' at rally's?

Would you hope for an assassination if he becomes President?

You've sure done a 180 on Powell, wease - some might call it a flip flop

that powell`s isn`t behind this war as much as some others in the bush cabinet.....and that he has already decided not to be a part of any bush re-election cabinet.....as i said, that`s pure speculation.....but,i agree with your comment....he adds a certain level of ...."validity"(i guess for lack of a bettter term)and consideration to this decision..... two leaders(and powell) whose political lives fully depend on this war going smoothly and successfully......i hope it goes well with few serious problems.... :mj07:

http://www.madjacksports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=274240&highlight=Powell

and who cares that colin powell has to much class to publicly respond.....

http://www.madjacksports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=154524&highlight=Powell

and while we`re talking impossibilities and improbablilities here, why not have colin powell run for the republicans?....

i can`t imagine what would happen if colin powell, john mccain or a bill richardson were running......vs either of these guys....

it would be a slam dunk....

i left out hillary on purpose...but as much as i dislike hil, she`d probably whip george like a red headed stepchild is they threw down in a debate...

what a pair.....both parties are clueless...

http://www.madjacksports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=162682&highlight=Powell

that said....c`mon george......you may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but i am a fan of powell and cheney....

i think powell`s an american hero because of his service to his country...hell,i respect kosar for his service....can`t take that away from them...

but c`mon...moonbats have been vilifying powell for years for ?lying us into a war.?...

looks like you`ve suddenly forgotten all aboutt it.....lol

but you have to ask yourself this.....if powell was against the iraq war.....something as important as a war.........why in god`s name did he go to the u.n. and make such a strong case for it?.....why not step down...be principled?....if war isn`t compelling enough an issue for powell to take a moral stand on,what is?...

obviously the plame affair wasn`t either...why did he stand by and allow other to men take the fall for the valerie plame fiasco when he surely knew that his lackey, dick armitage was the true source of the info?......

why?...because he never was a conservative...he was probably never really a republican...he was given all his opportunities by republican leaders....they nurtured him...promoted him...brought him to a position of promonence....

this is the same guy that donated money to mccain`s campaign?....and he waited until 2 weeks before the election to endorse obama?....sounds like he was making sure he`d back the winning horse...

can you say "political opportunist"?...

did they know he was a liberal at heart and wasn`t loyal?...

they should have...

thanks for setting the table,wubby...

hedgehog, thanks for your continuing razor-sharp insight to current politics.

Colin Powell is a turncoat, huh? I would offer up that he would be somewhat mentally ill if he continued to support the republicans who sold him out and did more to tarnish his loyalty and reputation than any democrat or independent ever did. Do you even THINK about anything before you type it?

Do you really think that anyone voting for Obama is mentally ill, or are you just trying to stir up more crap and test Jack's willingness to allow you to post the things you do?

I do think there are many in this forum that are against Obama for good reasons. But the question posted here does apply to a few, and it's easy to tell who they are. And that, IMO, is very sad.

Not sure what 95 percent of the blacks voting for Obama means when 100 percent of the nitwits voted for Bush twice.

Anytime that Dogs That Barks has to cite a racist drug addict as his source then you know he has a weak case. Limbaugh has as much credibility as William Clinton if not less.

Obama will never be qualified by your standards... if you watched and listened, Powell layed it out there...... if you believe, you have to be a gov or mayor from Alaska, He's not qualified...
