anybody know some good places to go to actually sell collectibles or check market value (on-line or in DC metro area)?
I have some stuff that I may want to sell (really I just want to see what they are valued at, probably wouldn't sell unless it is a real nut).
among them
a sammy baugh autograph on a program from griffin stadium. (i used to cut grass as a kid for a neighbor of my grandmothers, he was like 75, and would never accept any money from him. one day, i'm like 15 or something i get done and he calls me in for lunch. afterwards, he'd always give me a good old guy style lunch after i'd get done. anyway i'm sitting there and he's like "i know you wont' take any money but you have to accept a gift from someone or else it's an insult so take this." I couldn't believe it and tried to give it back but he said if you don't accept it, that's an insult so i said my thanks and have had it ever since.)
a wolverine comic book with a racial slur
(apparently this was only sent to some direct mail subscribers before they could pull it. they sent me a letter asking me to return it so it could be destroyed and offered to send me a stan lee autographed something but since i already had a strip signed by lee i kept the comic. of course my son found it and ripped the back cover page in half, the only time he'd ever done that.
few good rookie cards like montana and campbell.
plus i have alot of crap (my folks were really into collectibles) that i'd just like to get rid of like signed baseballs (qvc type style) and coke bottles from cal's streak game, etc. worthless to me but people would get pissed if i just threw them out.
thanks
