YTD Record: 65-56 for +23.19 units

As even a field as I can remember with no clear cut favorite. The ball does not carry in this ball park and you will see mostly small ball games, especially given the field is filled again with teams that pitch well and are some of the best defensive teams in the country.

For Saturday:

Irvine/Texas Under 5.5 (-110) for 1 unit - I expected the # to be this low in this one and have no problem playing the Under. In addition to what I note above, the wind is blowing straight in today at decent levels. The starting pitchers (Morales for Irvine; Thornhill for Texas) for both sides in the first game have been simply outstanding in the post season.

Ville/Vandy Under 7.5 (-105) for 2 units - higher total in this one due these team's being a little bit more offensive, but the top line pitching for both teams is still outstanding. If the weather predictions hold up, it may be tough for this game to get in tonight.

1-1 yesterday missing the Ville/Vandy Under. For Sunday:

TXTech/TCU Over 6 (-115) for 2 units - wind has switched to blowing out and two decent offense present a good opportunity for a small #.

UVa -150 (vs. Ole Miss) for 2 units - think this might finally be Virginia's year and should start with a W today.

The early afternoon game is between a pair of Lone Star State and Big 12 foes, Texas Tech and TCU -- the fifth meeting of the year between the two. The season series is split down the middle, but it was Tech who took the three-game conference bout back in March. TCU starter Preston Morrison, who's been tabbed ahead of usual No. 1 option Brandon Finnegan, lasted just two innings on that Saturday, allowing four runs and six hits in the loss.

Chris Sadberry, who will take the mound for the Red Raiders, allowed just one run and picked up the clinching Sunday win of that series.

TCU coach Jim Schlossnagle told the Star Telegram the decision to hold the left-handed Finnegan is based on matchups. On Tuesday the Horned Frogs will have to face either Virginia or Ole Miss, two lineups studded with lefty sluggers.

For Monday:

Texas -125 (vs. Ville) for 3 units - Cardinal's starting pitching drops off big time after their #1 guy. Texas has enough pitching to make its way through the losers bracket.

Vandy -120 (vs. Irvine) for 3 units - Vanderbilt will need 1st round pick Beede to bounce back after a poor performance against Stanford last week, but he is more than capable.

Vandy/Irvine Under 7.5 for 2 units - Should be another small ball game and any fly balls are just going to die with the wind blowing back in today.

For Tuesday:

Ole Miss -170 (vs. TX Tech) for 2 units ? A better D is the only thing the Red Raiders sport as an advantage in this one. Starting pitching is largely in Ole Miss? favor. They go with Christian Trent who had a stellar season, and after taking a week off for the conference tournament due to fatigue has come back in his two post season starts with great performances. Against good competition in Washington and Lafayette he pitched a combined 13.1 IP, giving up 1 ER, allowing 9 hits, 3 BB?s and piling up 13 K?s. The Lafayette game was really remarkable considering the hostile environment and the offense he was facing. Texas Tech on a whole doesn?t have as good of pitching, but their coach is rolling the dice with their starter tomorrow, frosh Ryan Moseley, passing over more capable veterans in my mind. Moseley had ok #?s on the season, 3.32 ERA; .209 OBA but struggled with control 22 BB?s in 43.1 IP. He hasn?t pitched in two weeks but that outing was a solid one against Miami in the regionals. That game was only his 4th start on the season, with the others being a cake walk against a meager Prairie View A&M team and two shellings against better competition.

UVa -110 (vs. TCU) for 1 unit ? tough to go against TCU starter Finnegan, but he has been a bit inconsistent down the stretch. UVa starter Waddell hasn?t gained the attention that his teammate Kirby has but he has been blemish free the last two months essentially.

Thanks. Both sides had some base running blunders, was really surprised at the TCU guy in the 12th going for third when he was watching the CF field the ball cleanly as he was rounding second.

2-0 yesterday being on the right side of two 1-run games.

CWS Record: 6-3 for +5.1 units

For Wednesday:

Texas/Irvine Over 5.5 (-130) for 2 units - Although both clubs have decent pitchers going even this deep in their rotation, this is the same # used for their first meeting when they had their aces going.

0-1 yesterday.

CWS Record: 6-4 for +2.5 units

For Thursday:

TCU -110 (vs. Ole Miss) for 2 units - TCU has had a day to recover from the disappointing 15 inning loss of Tuesday. Both teams are on their #3 starters and I like TCU's edge there and in their pen in this one.
TCU/Ole Miss Over 6.5 +105 for 1 unit - yeah this seems like a stupid bet again, but think we will see an over before we get back to every team's #1 pitcher going tomorrow.

1-1 yesterday getting the Over and missing TCU.

CWS Record: 7-5 for +1.35 units

For Friday:

Texas +145 for 1 unit
Texas +1.5 (-115) for 3 units ? Vandy is going with their #3 starter saving their top guy for either a Saturday game or game #1 of the championship series. Texas is going with Thornhill their best pitcher. Longhorns should be able to keep it close if not extend it to another game on Saturday.
