Tailing you jboy.

Foul weather in SE Louisiana. Widespread thunderstorm with heavy rain and wind gusts. Can't imagine Stoney and LSU will start on time. Lsu field supposedly drains well, but we've taken a months worth of rain since Friday morning.

IT'S a shame the rain came in to play in the nc st game. America needed to see Rodon. At least they somehow covered

2 things have been disappointing this weekend, Stanford's lack of pitching and the rain. Some great games, but the delays and how the rain has impacted the pitching has been a downer.

2-1 on the day getting the Oregon/Kent Under and Arky. LSU loses, Arky total pushes and S. Carolina is pending due to the suspension.

Supers Record: 5-9 for -5.25 units

For Monday:

Arky +150 (@ Baylor) for 2 units - both teams have decent #3 pitchers going, Fant for the Razorbacks and Bremer for the Bears. Fant has pitched real well his last few outings and there is a small edge there. Fant never will go very deep in a game, but that isn't an issue as Arkansas has a real good pen with some of their top arms that haven't been used this weekend.

Kent/Oregon Over 9.5 +105 for 1 unit - the pitchers going in today's are good but I don't expect either to shut the other club down and there should be runs scored from both sides.

Very tempted to play Kent small, but will just root for them from the sideline. I worry about their starting pitcher Skulina. Saw him last week in their regional victory game. He was effective, but was all around the plate and not very consistent. Had some big clutch moments from his D that helped him out of jams.

I like to root for the little guy, who no one gives chance to win. Nice going Stony Brook, who is advancing to the College World Series for the first time after kicking LSU's butt in Baton Rouge! :0074 :toast:

Apparently, the total season attendance for SB home games added up to half of the average regular season crowd for LSU. I thought is was cool and says alot about the LSU fan base that they remained in the stands to applaud and shake hands with SB players. too many of us take sports too seriously. Glad the majority in these parts don't....

read about the fans staying around on a couple of college baseball blogs. Very classy move and what makes college baseball cool is that it isn't too 'big time' yet and you get stories like this.

And the cheering for Stony is going to continue next week. The locals in Omaha that make up a good portion of the CWS attendance love the underdog and will be backing SB in all games.

And it should be noted again, Stony Brook is a pretty good club. They were ranked #25 by BaseballAmerica headed into the post-season. Them playing well shouldn't be a shock, but is still good to see. First 'northeast' team to make it to Omaha since Maine back in 1986.

S. Carolina is on an unreal run. Not only the 21 straight, but a 26-1 overall post-season record the last 3 years. And everyone agrees they aren't a great team on paper, just one or two studs, and then quite a few role guys stepping up day in and day out. Coach Tanner has done something special there.

Was thinking back to the '10 season that got it started for them. They went to Coastal Carolina for the Super Regional that year and played in 2 dramatic 1 win games. That series really set the tone as the type of team they were/are. Quite a few 1 run wins (9) and extra inning games (5) in that stretch.

Oklahoma was 1 pitch away from knocking them out in 2010...a pitch that may have caught the corner of the plate was called a ball on a 2-2 count with 2 outs in the 9th...if its called a strike Oklahoma moves on and the Cocks go back to Cola...Jackie Bradley comes through with a hit the very next pitch and the rest is history.

I remember that. Never hurts to have a little luck sometimes. Most teams that win a championship have some good luck along the way.

yes indeed another couple of great games, quite a slew of close contests this weekend and with them all being televised, was some great watching.

Nice hit yourself on Kent. Now the impartials in Omaha will have an underdog in either bracket to cheer for.

I went 2-1 getting Arky and S. Carolina and missing the total.

Supers Record: 7-10 for -2.25 units
Total Post-season Record: 21-17 for +6.55 units
