2 chalky plays to close out the weekend:

San Diego -180 (vs. SD State) for 2 units - Backing Blair as I was yesterday, but just not as big due to the higher price.

UCLA -200 (vs. USC) for 2 units - similar to the USD play, backing a much better pitcher that got bumped from yesterday, this one is Trevor Bauer of UCLA. USC did play yesterday, so they will be throwing their #3 starter, big edge for the Bruins.

2-2 as Fullerton and UCLA win but NC State and USD lose. Frustrating losses as NC State left a ton on base and USD had a 4 run lead and gave up 5 in the 9th to lose 9-4.

San Diego +110 (@ Fullerton) for 2 units ? was initially leaning towards a small Fullerton play until I found out the starters. This is one of those weird early season matchups where a weekend starter gets paired up against a mid-week guy. Senior AJ Griffin goes for San Diego and he has started the series opener for the Toreros in each of the first two weekends. He has not performed well giving up 4 ER?s in both outings lasting 6 IP in each. He did strikeout 8 in each and he is a power pitcher. Last year he was an all-conference player with a 3.33 ERA; 1.31 WHIP; .250 OBA and 85 K?s in 81 IP. Fullerton sends Junior Kevin Rath to the mound for the start. Rath has made 3 relief appearances this season for a total of 2 1/3 IP. He?s given up only 1 hit in that time but walked 5. Walks are something that have always been an issue with Rath. Last year Rath?s numbers were 5.02 ERA; 1.62 WHIP; .279 OBA and 27 K?s in 37 2/3 IP. He?s a trusted veteran pitcher for Fullerton, but not someone that is going to shut down a decent squad like USD for multiple innings on end. That combined with Griffin?s power against a struggling Fullerton offense (.228 avg and .329 OB% thus far) sets up for a small dog play.
