San Diego State v. New Mexico
Two similar teams in that they've both had disappointing season's so far with close losses and are in a must-win situation. Both are def. oriented squads.
SDSU's D is nicknamed "The Dark Side" - unfortunately that moniker also describes their O. Aztecs are hurting on the OL and O'Connell is getting the nod this weemc Inexpr. has likewise hurt an O with talent at WR. RB Hamilton's redshirting has left the team without enough bullets.
UNM's gambling, opportunistic D is a high-risk/high-reward unit. TO's have been their specialty and should play a big factor here. The key is to shut down the ground attack and blitz the Aztecs' RS frosh signal-caller.
Aztec D is keeping them competitve but they can be subsceptible to the pass. CB Elimimian has yet to play this year.
Moore provides the bulk of the off. production for UNM. The Lobos' problem is the tepid air assault. QB McKamey's flaccid arm cannot take advantage of the size and speed available in the WR corps...the dude should be charged with 3rd degree criminal negligence. But he's healthy and is efficient in a pedestrian way.
Lobos should eventually pull away and get a decen homecoming victory over an Aztec team that will make more mistakes than plays.
