wtf - no weekday football games thru the entire weeK? :nooo:
Colorado State v. BYU
CSU has garnered momentum from their 3 game homestand winning in a comeback game v. Utah. BYU may have saved their season also rallying for a conf. victory @ UNM.
Rams have acquired balance w/ RB Bell to complement the efficiency of QB Holland. Holland has a nice arm and some quality wideouts. OL is banged up but they've made do, albeit v. Nevada, AFA, and - a now mediocre - Utah.
Cougars have been hobbled on D. They were the walking wounded @ San Diego...and BYU just didn't show up for that game. Gutsy and fortunate game v. the Lobos. Front seven has some talent but no difference-makers. Secondary...fuhgedaboutit.
Ram D is adequate but vulnerable to any real O team. Really think they have problems w/ Watkins...who hasn't had the big stats this year as teams key on him.
What's key for BYU is maintaing some balance. Brown had a good game v. Lobos and they need to incorporate him and Tahi - returns from susp. - further into the gameplan. OC Anae's still finding his way on O.
I expect the Cougars to play w/ a lot of fire (and brimstone) this Sat. This should be a hard-nosed, barn-burner.
BYU +2
Other meals:
Arkansas State -10 : ASU O should be too much on O for ULL...Cajun backup QB Desormeaux is more of a runner than a passer at this time.
Tulane +7 : Green Wave have a decent enoigh D to contain a banged-up Palmer ( who is overrated as is) despite a hot Houston O runnin' roughshod over 'em...Ricard and WR's are pretty good and should exploit the Miners.
New Mexico State +20 : I expect a tougher game than expected as NMSU is ranked 3rd in the nation - in ESPN's Bottom Ten rankings...Hawaii is hobbling on D w/ their best player out for this game in Purcell...it is hard to trust the Aggies but Warrior O too inexpr. and not fast enough to just light up the scoreboard.
