I am kinda on a roll lately in the College game, I have hit 7 of my last 8 plays! So hopefully we can keep it going today!
Northern Illinois at TOLEDO (+1.5)
According to the numbers I use....no one has a better home field advantage then the Rockets. They have been nearly flawless at home including a win at home against Pittsburgh. Toledo has racked up some major yardage along the way...476 yards a game to be exact! And 554 a game at home! They should have no troubles racking up yards and points in this one today. With Northern Illinois starting out of the gate so quickly this year....teams in the MAC have been very fired up to get them in their house as Bowling Green dominated the game in BG, and I look for this one to be the same. Toledo needs this one to stay in the West race and set up a huge game with BG. Not to mention Toledo has dominated this series in current times. This is the perfect contrarian play that looks like we are getting a team in a great spot. Take the points.
CINCINNATI +7 at TCU
Line looks a little funny to most. Not to me. TCU has been squeeking by in these games. They are not that good. Now, some may call me a hypocrite by saying this as I defend Ohio State till my dying day, BUT one big difference. Ohio State wins with defense! TCU hasnt seen defense since early in the season. The last 3 games has seen them give up 107 points and an average of 552 yards! On the contrast Cincinnati only gives up 318 yards a game, and if they can hold serve today, will give TCU their first loss. Most are looking at Southern Miss as the trap game for TCU, but most are looking past this one. They shouldnt be. Cincinnati has been known to play to the level of their competition this year...as they struggled with Army and Phode Island, but lost by only 5 at Miami OH, and won at West Virginia. Look for this one to be close throughout and maybe an upset!
Michigan at NORTHWESTERN +17.5
I may regret this one....but I have to take a shot. Michigan knows they are better. They have a huge game setup next week with Ohio State. Quietly, Northwestern has gotten them into a position that if they win this game...they only have to beat lowly Illinois to go to a bowl game, and that would be a MAJOR accomplishment for this football team. A team that many tossed to the side as pitiful. Well, they are playing good football now....not scoring points, but holding their opponant. They will give a valiant effort today. It will come up short....but if they can hang in there for even the first quarter...look for this one to be a tight game. Michigan knows the importance of this game, but in the back of their heads....they are playing Ohio State next week for the Big 10 title. 17.5 is very steep in what i see as a lower scoring game. Take the points.
Pittsburgh at WEST VIRGINIA +1.5
Seems to be a trend developing in the Big East...everytime there is a big game...just take the home underdog. Huge games the last couple weeks have gone to the home dog. This game already has enough heat under it, as it is the Backyard Brawl. West Virginia needs this game to stay in the Big East hunt. Pittsburgh may have expended all of its energy coming back against the Hokies last week and may have forgotten about their rival. They also have the Hurricanes on deck as well. Perfect spot for a letdown in my opinion.
