kansas-20(120)....

i like playing against teams who pulled off an upset the week before...& la tech upset a turnover prone miss. st. last week at home, eventhough their qb went 14 of 40. this week they play at kansas, a team that was +21 in turnovers last year. last week kansas cruised to a non-cover win against fla. int'l....but they coasted the last 20 minutes of the game where they played alot of subs.

last year at home kansas averaged 48.5 pts. per game & have covered 15 of their last 18 at home.

here are some additional trends supporting this play...

lou tech is 10-22 ats in games played on turf since 1992.

lou tech is 0-7 ats in road games after gaining 3.75 or less yards/play in their previous game since 1992.

lou tech is 3-13 as dogs of 20 or more points in their last 16 times.

kansas is 6-1 as favorites of 17 or more in their last 7 times.

kansas is 9-1 ats after 1 or more consecutive straight up wins over the last 2 seasons.

kansas is 7-0 ats after a game where they forced 3 or more turnovers over the last 2 seasons.

kansas is 8-1 ats in games played on turf over the last 2 seasons.

kansas is 8-1 ats after allowing 14 points or less last game over the last 3 seasons.

good luck

GL chief. I'm on my way home today. All is fine, much to the chagrin of the alrmist ratings-whores at CNN, MSNBC and Fox News. Good grief, you would think they were covering WWIII.

neb.-26....

this a big class difference between these 2 teams. sjst doesn't know who their qb is & used all 3 last week. also read that san jose will be without 2 starters on the offensive line for the 2nd week in a row which explains why they only averaged 1.8 yds. per rush last week.....but they finished #111 last year in rushing. nebs offense is very potent & except for the 3rd quarter, their defense looked pretty good. i read that pellini laced into the defense this week, so i look for a 4 quarter effort for this game.

a few trends...

sjs is 1-6 ats on the road the last 2 years...

nebraska is 15-3 ats after allowing 325 or more passing yards in their last game since 1992.

pitt.-13....

yeah i know but i couldn't resist...lol.....but an angle that i like to play is taking a team that lost as a favorite last week.

buff. goes from playing one of the worst defenses (utep) in college football to one of the best....& i will be surprised if the very good pitt. defense will be surprised by buff's offense as they were for bg's offense last week. i also look for pitt. to stretch the field vs buffalo..something they didn't do last week....which will open up the lanes for their 2 very good backs.

buffalo is 2-10 ats against Big East conference opponents since 1992..... & 1-10 ats in their last 11 road openers.

good luck

miss.+8....

wf has an inexperienced offensive line & gained only 150 yards on 3.5 ypr. last week vs. baylor...so eventhough miss. is missing 2 defensive linemen, i look for them to keep the wf running attack under some control & put pressure on the wf qb (4 sacks last week). also houston nutt has devised some crazy offenses which were similar to those at arkansas...which also takes time to learn how to defend.

i think this game will close throughout.

a trend....

wf is 0-9-1 ats vs. non- conference opponents failing to cover the number by 12 ppg.

good luck.

tex. a & m -2.5...

basically taking a & m for the same reason why i am taking pitt...taking a team the next game after losing as a favorite....also new mexico may be without their starting qb.

good luck.

ok st-15 (120)....

ok st has a very well balanced offense that is it's 4th year under this coach, while houston is playing it's 2nd game under this coach..& is learnig new systems on offense & defense...also was impressed with how the ok st defense played against a good wash. st offensive team last week.

a system...

play on - home favorites ( ok st) - after allowing 225 or less total yards in their previous game against opponent after gaining 475 or more total yards in their previous game.

since 1992 the ats record is.....67-31......68.4%

over the last 3 seasons the situation's record is.......9-3.........75%

over the last 5 seasons the situation's record is.....18-5......78%

here is something that i read in a newsletter concerning new coaches in their 2nd game as dd dogs taking on an opponent off a victory in it's last game.....if the dog had won 5 or fewer games the previous season, they are 10-29 ats since 1998....this week these dog teams are....houston, so. miss, & wash. st....& if their opponent is off a win of 24 or more points in its previous game, they are 1-14 ats....houston & so.miss qualify.

good luck

good luck this weekend. I am leaning on Okie state. Those Pitt and A&M plays are nice considering they were embarassed in week one. Still I will wait to see if those teams have the mental toughness to show up before I play them.

Cheers

temple +7......

this is a revenge game for temple who lost to conn. last year because of a blown call by the officials. think this year it will be just as close with conn. returning 17 starters from last year & temple 22.

here is a system...

play on - home underdogs (temple) - off a road win, in the first half of the season......

over the last 5 seasons the ats record is.....48-18.........72.7%
