Just read that LSU will start Austin Ross (soph). He is around the strike zone plenty and he is very hittable, as opponents have batted .300 against him this season. Anthony Ranaudo could be used out of the pen, otherwise he'll start game 3.

Coleman and Ott are only pitchers unavailable tonight.

Taylor Jungmann is going to start for Texas. He pitched to one batter last night and walked him. Though in his prior three outings he has been pretty impressive. He started the Longhorn's Super Regional game 3 and gave up only 2 hits in 6 shutout innings to TCU. He closed out Texas' see-saw game with Southern Miss to start the CWS with 2/3 of an inning. Jungmann than appeared in relief in Texas' 10-6 comeback victory over ASU in the CWS. He pitched the final 5 2/3 in that game giving up 2 hits and no runs.

On the season Jungmann has a 2.21 ERA; 1.09 WHIP; .197 opponents avg. and 92 K's in 85 2/3 IP. He has been very important to Texas' success this year but doesn't get the press that Ruffin, Green and Wood have received on the pitching staff.

With how hittable Ross can be (as highlighted by Cie Grant's post), I think Texas can get the win to push it to a third game. I'm also going to go with a play on the Under as I don't think the ball will be jumping out like it did yesterday. There is only a slight wind in Omaha today, so I expect to see a tighter small ball type game.

Texas +130 for 3 units
Texas/LSU Under 11 for 3 units

POOOOONNNNN! :00hour

Way to go, sir. You were all over this one. Jungmann pitched a gem. I went with you tonight because of the knowledge I figured you obtained throughout the season. You have been MJ's main stalwart in regard to college baseball handicapping all year, and I commend you for your efforts. Quite a profitable season in return for your time. One more game...what is your take?

JCoverS - thanks for your kind words man.

That wasn't the white knuckle game that Monday's was, but it was still a good one. Though Texas had the lead throuhout and Jungmann was on his game, you knew LSU had the potential to get back in it any inning and had to be careful.

This may sound cliche, but more than winning the bets tonight, I'm so glad to see this go to a game #3. Raunado vs. Green and a completely rested Longhorn bullpen. Man, hard to draw up a better finale to the college season.

As for tomorrow's game, I have an inkling but want to wait until I see the line.

Thanks for the early post. After reading your play and with the delay of the game, I canceled my over. Goes to show you that a little homework can save you a lot of money.

Anyways, thanks again!:)

Looks like a fairly even matchup on the hill, but Texas has the bullpen edge. I'm thinking Texas +134 is the way to go, even though LSU has an excellent record in rubber games, losing only 2 this season (Illinois early, and Vols in SEC play).
