First let me start off by saying this is a great thread, everything said in here is valuable, except there is one problem when betting on college baseball. ANYONE CAN BEAT ANYONE IN THIS COLLEGE WORLD SERIES. I used to play for New Mexico State from 94 to 99 and we were in the big west with fullerton, long beach, etc. 1 single player can carry a team this whole series sort of how Mark Kotsay did for fullerton did in 95. He put them on his back and carried them the whole series. Basically what i am saying is it is very difficult to predict who wins this series.
Sw Mizzou st is actually very good and could give Rice a tough game, South Carolina will win today along with Fullerton. Texas will beat Miami and then who knows. This is anyones series especially with the new bats they will break out today. Louisville always designs new bats for the college world series and gives them to their sponsors so the guys get excited with this new bats. YOu will see some balls fly out of the yard today.
Hope this helps some of you guys and I wish you the best with who ever you play.

best of luck

Here we GO! 1 game today!

Cal State Fullerton (GM 1) 5 units

For the championship:

Fullerton 5 units to win 12.5
Rice 5 units to win 13.75
Texas 2.5 units to win 13.75

SO if Fullerton wins I net 5 units, if Rice wins I wil net 6.25 units and if Texas can win back to backs I net 3.75 units. If one of the other 5 teams win....I lose 12.5 units....ouch! Anyway, really like Fullerton in game 1 today!

SATURDAY's PLAYs

Texas -120 3 units

Yesterday 1-0 with Fullerton winner for 5 units!

Really think Rice wins today too but awfully big chalk for CWS! SMS has some players and almost justifys a shot with the great value coming back.....BUT I am laying off as Rice pitching is so strong and determined!

hell the last 3 years you have had lines 750 800 and 2 1200 when ragin cajuns were in it, this is the closest the lines have been in 5 years most are 275-350 first couple rounds so a 250 is not high for cws just the other lines are much lower then they have been the past 5 years because teams match up good.

good luck i took cains going to be a battle of coaching glad you took csf yesterday. might look for a growl on sunday;)

For what it's worth, I have a small play on SWMS to upset Rice, and a larger play on Texas. If it splits either way, I come out ahead. If they both win, I win big.

Home Wrecker, you're doing a great job. Thanks for the thread.

4-0 +15 units so far gang. I will post tonights game a little later. Way before start time but wanted to get this one in as its about to go. Southwest Mizzou State has been very special in just getting here. I believe that they are going with Ziegler on the mound who is 12-1 with a 4.29 ERA. He is pitched 100,2 innings giving up 108 hits, 89 strike outs, and only 24 walks. He was the MVC Pitcher of the Year. Miami looks to counter with Bongiovanni who was 7-4 on the year with a 3.95 ERA. He is only a Solphmore who has pitched 66 innings giving up 61 hits with 65 K's and 33 free passes. Here is where I see the differences. TRUE people will make an argument that they haven't gone 2 and out in ages and it has only happend rarely, BUT this is the CWS and anything can happen, and history is history....the past is gone and the now is here....ASK the Tigers of LSU. They got bounced in 2 for only the 2nd time in 12 appearances! Miami IS YOUNG! Their big bat is Braun who is only a frosh. Some frosh rise to the top in the CWS while some struggle to deal with the pressures. This team is loaded with a lot of those kids that must deal with the pressure including the one that they put on the hill in an elimanation game. Miami's road to the CWS included Bethune-Cookman, Florida Atlantic, Florida where they lost game 1 15-5 and then they were fortuanate to play at home vs NC State. SMS on the other hand has been in a position to prove their worthiness and have done just that. Their road was Coastal Carolina a #3 seed, Nebraska in LINCOLN, and swept Ohio State in COLUMBUS. They will most definately have the support of not only their fans but those of all the other schools as they are playing the Cinderella vs. a team that many would not shed a team to see go 2 and OUT! With a value of +155 and getting a very solid team that had 7 players drafted in the MLB Draft this year I have to play the DOG!

GO SMS!

Southwest Missouri State +155 2 units

BigTymePlayer,

It should be an interesting last two at bats for SMS. The play for me was based more on me viewing the two teams in this particular situation as being pretty equal and then add in the value of +160 and I had to play a small 2 unit wager on them. I just couldn't justify playing THIS miami team at -185. As you said, should be a good ending! Best of luck to you!

Go to ncaasports.com and click on the CWS coverage to check to see who the home team is. My book acutally posts it as well, but I get it on the ncaasports.com page. Good website to follow the action if you can't watch on tv too. This will be an awesome finish as SMS will have the top of their lineup coming up. I just hope they can get out of the top of the ninth without giving up a run. For a team that is as solid as they are defensively they have gave away some runs that they shouldn't have today. I hope it doesn't come back to haunt them.
