Colon Cleansing

Not for the faint of Stomach

Ok call me a sucker, I have been sucked into a few informercials here recently about colon cleansing.

A lot of these stories/facts about up to 40 lbs of undigested fecal matter found in people during autopsies and the sizes of their colons has really gotten me thinking.

Also a lot of the pictures (yes they show pictures) of a lot of people on particular programs' bowel movements that are quite disgusting but very interesting in a lot of ways too (no scat fetish for me)

Has anyone ever done one of these before?

I have been feeling very dreadful lately and wonder if cleaning myself out---yes I am full of schitt too :mj07:

This sounds really gross, but I am looking for the results I have seen on these informercials/web sites. I can post some pics or links if it is not too offensive or if jack approves?

These people are pooping out strands of huge mucous, worms, stuff that looks like tires!!!

I have read many, many tesimonials on a vast array of sites, I am sure many are that way to get you to buy a product but just wanted to see if anyone else has done something similar?

Lots of people die with their colon's obstructed because of their disease or they are post-op from some operation which creates paralytic bowel

Many colons are huge in diameter because they are infarcted/obstructed by tumor, etc.

If you were getting ready to run 100 meter dash and needed 1/100 of a second off your score, i would think about getting a colon cleansed, but other than that your colon will be in its usual state less than 24 hours post cleansing.

And yes, if you get one, you are a sucker as you will waste money, undergo an operation which has potential life threatening side effects, and have to sit through the procedure

Thank you Dr. Freeze

Thank you Dr. Freeze

I feel like sucker already, those pictures nearly had me hooked. All the talk of impacted fecal matter and years of buildup coming out, was exciting. I didn't realize the colon would go back to being realy dirty w/24 hrs. But some of the things in these pictures I hae seen is mind-boggling!

not sure if fattymanboobs(great name by the way, :mj07: ) is taking about some kind of operation or just one of these health spa treatment deals. If it is the latter I doubt it is life threatening. But, I could be wrong as I have no experience in the matter.

Many many years ago maybe 20 I was having a lot of trouble with bronchitis and asthma. I went the regular doctor route, family doctor, internist, just trying to get some relief, it got pretty bad. This is when I met Dr. Lou Harp, a chiropractor/kinesioligist who believed in diet, exercise and a general all around healthy lifestyle. He suggested I try "Sonne's N0. 9" a colon cleanser that can be bought at any good health food store. I think Whole Foods might carry it, not sure. After a few weeks of this I noticed a significant difference in everything, my skin looked better, I was having less trouble breathing and I didn't need to use my inhalers as much. I still use this colon cleanser and I can tell you it helped me and I still use it today, every night before bedtime.

from this site: http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/gastro.html

note the following:
Colonic irrigation, which also can be expensive, has considerable potential for harm. The process can be very uncomfortable, since the presence of the tube can induce severe cramps and pain. If the equipment is not adequately sterilized between treatments, disease germs from one person's large intestine can be transmitted to others. Several outbreaks of serious infections have been reported, including one in which contaminated equipment caused amebiasis in 36 people, 6 of whom died following bowel perforation [7-9]. Cases of heart failure (from excessive fluid absorption into the bloodstream) and electrolyte imbalance have also been reported [10]. Yet no license or training is required to operate a colonic-irrigation device. In 1985, a California judge ruled that colonic irrigation is an invasive medical procedure that may not be performed by chiropractors and the California Health Department's Infectious Disease Branch stated: "The practice of colonic irrigation by chiropractors, physical therapists, or physicians should cease. Colonic irrigation can do no good, only harm." The National Council Against Health Fraud agrees [11].

I don't think they are talking about this specific procedure, but the health supplements being peddled by health food supplements companies claiming all these results if you take the regiment of supplements for 6 weeks etc.

I may be wrong but that;s what I think he was asking about??

ohhhh, I see what you're talking about, doc. I think boobs was asking about the pills/herbs you take that make you defecate the matter out on your own. You're talking about those mega enemas.

oh, i was under the impression of a "real cleansing" which some unlicensed people do which can perforate the bowel

as far as the other goes, its your money and any "pill" you buy likely contains things that you could rather eat in a bowl of cereal

Drink a quart of warm water with sea salt added to it in the morning-(if you can gag it down)-then go sit on the pot for about an hour--that will cleanse you out!l

FMB, this is all you need to do and it will be much less expensive than anything on an infomercial. Don't do it before you plan on going anywhere, cause its coming out just like it went in in two hours or less.

I got suckered into buying some of that "Dual Action Cleanse" stuff they peddle on TV .... includes what they call a "Total Body Purifier" and "Colon Clear Formula" (2 different bottles of pills) .... took it for about 45 days myself and didn't really notice much difference in my BM's like they said you would .... was that what you were talking about Fattymanboobs?? It has been all over TV lately I've noticed, the infomercial has some weird looking guy with a moustache discussing your bowel movements with 2 supposed doctors and how great the "Dual Action Cleanse" is and how it will clean out your colon .... watch out for this product as they put you on some automatic shipment plan and will keep sending you the pills (and bill your credit card) even after you tell them to stop.

Hawk eye hit nail on head.

I took whats called the Lemonade Diet, not sure if anyones heard of it.

But simply put,u drink Homemade lemonade,(special recipe) all day for upwards of a month.

I could not go without food for that long , so my friends and i made a pack to do it for 1 week solid.

On the 3rd and every 3rd day the diet calls for a salt water flush. 2 quarts of luke warm(Cold does not dilute the salt very well) salt water. trust me made me cry gaging it down(ohh by the way, u need to get it all down in 15 mins) so u literally gag it down, hard to drink.

BAM 15 mins later it ALL comes out all 2 quarts and extras. then back to the lemonade.

As for the diet, end of week loss 12 pounds, and im a skinny guy, had tons of energy and felt healthy. But was dying for some burgers. :142smilie

I strongly recommend this diet , or fast as some say, to everyone, i did not have much faith in it till i did it. believe me its hard , but u lose weight fast and gain health just as fast.
