Having last played Saturday (a 3-1 win over the Devils), the Stars are champing at the bit to get into another game.

So tonight's 7:30 p.m. contest against Colorado (on FSSW) could be revved up.

Dallas took two days off, then worked into some ``pacey'' practices Wednesday and Thursday, and believe they are ready to go.

``You're a little concerned, because we were playing well, we seemed to have good momentum, and you don't want to stop that momentum,'' said captain Brenden Morrow. ``But we've had some good practices, pacey practices, and I think we're ready now.''

Stars coach Glen Gulutzan used an old Colorado reference in discussing why he likes to run hard practices to get his players ready for games.

``It was way back when Joe Sakic won the Cup with Ray Bourque in Colorado and I remember an interview he did, and someone asked Joe Sakic if the team was going to be ready, and he said, `Ever since Ray Bourque came here, he hits and fully expects to be hit in practice, and now the team practices like we play, so we'll be ready,''' Gulutzan said. ``That's two Hall of Fame guys there, so it kind of stuck with me. We practice like we play, so we'll be ready.''

Steve Ott is out with a hip pointer, and the Stars appear to be sticking with their line juggling of:

Morrow-Ribeiro-Burish
Eriksson-Benn-Ryder
Nystrom-Fiddler-Dvorak
Barch-Dowell-Petersen

Now, they were allowing the Morrow-Ribeiro-Ryder group to stay together on the power play with Goligoski-Robidas this morning, so that is one thing that is different (or the same).

That means the second unit will be:

Eriksson-Benn-Burish
Daley-Souray

On defense, Mark Fistric gets a seat tonight, so expect:

Goligoski-Pardy
Souray-Robidas
Grossman-Daley

Kari Lehtonen in goal for the Stars.

Avalanche lines could look like this:

Duchene - Stastny - Hejduk
Landeskog - O'Reilly - Winnik
Lindstrom - Galiardi - Jones
McLeod - McClement - Kobasew

Wilson - Johnson
Quincey - O'Brien
Hejda - O'Byrne
