I like Manning and Colts a lot, so some bias here.

I have to take Colts ML and Colts -7, Manning vs. Grossman.

Bears have a good running game, but Colts are now able to at least contain the run.
Saints could have beaten them, but they needed to get a lead. I didn't agree with first fumble and also Saints missed FG was partly due to weather.

If Grossman has to play from behind, could get ugly. Bears D is good, but they can be passed on.

I am so sick of seeing Bears do almost nothing and then just hold guys up and take the ball. I know its good strategy, but so many times it seems like whistle should blow or the guy is down, etc.

Colts receivers (and RB's to an extent) need to play like Rams. Catch the ball, get what you can, and go down. DO NOT FIGHT FOR EXTRA YARDS!

Punt the ball out of bounds. Kick offs-squib it, sky kick it, whatever.

Only way I see Bears winning/covering is if Bears get defensive scores, esp. off fumbles, and/or special team points.

Its warm weather, Manning needs to completely silence critics, AFC is so dominant, Bears offense is not that good, etc.

I think Colts win by 17.

TDJ you touch on something i wish they would make a rule about and its the guys that blatantly try to strip the ball. I dont mind big hits for fumbles or trailing a guy and pulling his elbows back but anymore its getting sickening to watch guys just pulling the ball from another player. Some guys don't even try to tackle guys just sit there and hang on for a strip. Maybe a quick slap at the ball but it is getting bad. You see so many great runs and all the sudden the guy has to stop because this little nat is grabbing at the ball and pulling it for all he is worth.

Make a rule about stripping the ball???? Would you like the guys to bat the passes down instead of intercepting it also? If a player attempts to strip the ball instead of tackling, thats the risk they take, sort of like the risk you take gambling....its all a gamble.........should basketball players have to hold their hands behind there back when they play defense........

if you want to watch a game that involves the defense not trying to grab the ball, watch soccer:com:

Sponge, not exactly sure what you mean.

For me, as I've said...I just feel like way too often the guy is getting held by another guy and then stripped and there is at times controversy as to whether the forward progress is stopped.

Refs simply will not blow the whistle, so you could have the play basically over but just make sure the guy isn't actually down and then take it away.

Something similar....there is no "force out" on a catch in college football. If a guy jumps up to catch it, just catch him in mid-air and then proceed to run him to the sideline out of bounds. Easier said than done, but if you can pull it off....the catch is incomplete. He's got to come down for it to be an actual catch.

Overall, if the guy is going to strip, make him pay by running through the tackle. If the play is over, ref needs to blow the whistle.

I hate to see guys like Ram receivers just fall down, but unfortunately, it makes sense sometimes.

dice those two examples are silly. im talking about a guy getting tackled and another guy just goes in and starts tugging at the ball. Its getting to be on every play. It reminds me of all the timeouts guys use to call in the nba when they were falling out of bounds. It got to be nauseating. Look im all for trying to get the ball but im talking about one type of strip in particular. The one TDJ is talking about. Tackle the freaking guy and stop being a pussy and trying to strip it out of his hands. Now what the receiver on NE did to the SD D back is okay with me. Even a guy running by and a guy tries to punch it out. Not a guy basically being stopped and another guy now trying to strip it from him. Hope i explained this a little better.

Yeah, I sort of see what your saying. If nothing else, the only solution would be a rule change and I don't see that necessary here. The main thing I see is that refs need to blow the whistle when the play is over whether the guy is down or not.

A player can be helpless when he's got 4-5 guys tackling him and no way to go down. They just hold him up and strip. If it happens quickly, then thats ok. If the play is over, blow the whistle.

As for guys falling out of bounds and calling timeouts. Easy solution. Reduce the number of timeouts a team gets. In college basketball, there are 8 tv timeouts and each team gets how many? I honestly don't know. I'd say cut it down to 6 tv timeouts and give each team 3-4 timeouts and thats it.

TD my previous post explains what i mean. On another note why does college have their own little rules. Why not two feet in on a catch? Why not u have to be touched when you are down. And quit stopping the clock with a first down. What is the big deal with games being played the same but one has different rules? Not sure i see this in other collegiate sports but maybe a closer three point line.

you'll never cut the tv timeouts but man they do need to cutback on timeouts in BB. That last minute can go on for a half an hour.
