Comments only from those who saw it please.

1st Will have to say I was pleasantly surprised on the presidents(will give grade A) presentation--ceretainly had him pegged wrong.

Quite canny on final comments about how Ahmadinejad would avoid answering the questions presented but his silence would speak for itself.

Ahmadinejad (grade C) lived up to Presidents Bollinger's anticipation and dodged all questions with never answering a direct question--used all the famous teckniques--started intially with incoherant rant on religion--then dodged direct yes or no qeustion--then answered question with question--reason for grade C was--though evident to all watching --he completely fooled what are suppose to be intelligent students and got applause after skirt on question--only boo I heard was when he said Iran had no gays.

Students (grade F-)
--and I thought journalism was bad now--I shudder to think of the next generation.
What pray tell did they think was worthy of applause after each issue he totally skirted.
They got to be smarter than that if they passed SAT to get in. Have to think it was their idealology of their freedom of speach issue--but they totally blew that on the Minutemen fiasco.
Their freedom of speach applies to those that kill our soiders and us but does not apply to our soilders (ROTC) that defend us our those that defend our borders.

Probably the best interview afterward was from girl who said -at least they (Iran) will see our presidents initial presentation and see how Ahmadinejad avoided answering.

Good try young one--but chances are remote they will ever see that part unless on pirated tv.

--and wonder if rest of it might be a little skewed in the translation there ;). The only thing that part of the world will see loud and clearfor sure is the students cheers after every issue he skirted.

So there you have it--and never used the "L' word :)

Dogs That Bark (grade B+) --Showed improvement in vocaublary, never using words like "element", "blog", and of course the L one. Only things that kept him from getting an 'A' was saying the students got an 'F-', which is of course not a possible grade - and his continued annoying use of the same smilies over and over. :) ;)

Not sure why Columbia would give a platform to such an extreme, right wing, conservative zealot to begin with.

I guess it's all in the name of freedom of speech. Cool, I guess.

I agree, it's weird how the students cheered some things this right wing, conservative, uber-religious nutcase said, but stormed the stage at the minuteman speech.

That school is not consistent. (F)

L-words are often very hypocritical in their criticism of American conservatives while appearing accepting of tyrants from extremely intolerant countries.

"There are no gays in Iran."...:142smilie

and got applause after skirt on question--only boo I heard was when he said Iran had no gays.

While there was plenty of head-scratching applause (I have no idea who made up the students who were there), I heard booing on several occassions, although when he said they had no gays, it just sounded like laughter. I also thought the audience questions (at least out of those that I heard, at least... I only saw a portion of it) had more substance than I expected.

Thought questions well very thought out myself Mr B.

He missed his chance on a good one though.

When discussing the holocaust Ahmadinejad stated in didn't start in palestine but rather europe--Bollinger should have asked him per his statement -evidently he does then acknowledge that it occurred.

IRI President addresses students at Colombia University New York, Sept 25, IRNA

Ahmadinejad-Colombia Varsity-Address
Despite entire US media objections, negative propagation and hue and cry in recent days over IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's scheduled address at Colombia University, he gave his lecture and answered students questions here on Monday afternoon.

On second day of his entry in New York, and amid standing ovation of the audience that had attended the hall where the Iranian President was to give his lecture as of early hours of the day, Ahmadinejad said that Iran is not going to attack any country in the world.

Before President Ahamadinejad's address, Colombia University Chancellor in a brief address told the audience that they would have the chance to hear Iran's stands as the Iranian President would put them forth.

He said that the Iranians are a peace loving nation, they hate war, and all types of aggression.

Referring to the technological achievements of the Iranian nation in the course of recent years, the president considered them as a sign for the Iranians' resolute will for achieving sustainable development and rapid advancement.

The audience on repeated occasion applauded Ahmadinejad when he touched on international crises.

At the end of his address President Ahmadinejad answered the students' questions on such issues as Israel, Palestine, Iran's nuclear program, the status of women in Iran and a number of other matters.

If you think UBL-Ahmadinejad and terrorist don't have manipulating an entity of our society down pat--think again--its childs play for them--

I can see it now--at next terrorist conference--Ahmadinejad will scoff at algazeera--so you think you did something by getting NYT and other U.S. media to promote your agenda--Ha- I went next to ground zero on their very turf--and got standing ovations on every issue addressed.
All terrorist at convention come to their feet in applause--all sporting t-shirts with --

I think the laughter at his comments on homosexuality was beautiful. IMO, booing does not affect this type of egomaniac, but sheer laughter at the ridiculous nature of his comments is likely to hit him where it hurts.

In the history of warfare, only one nation has dropped a nuclear bomb on another nation and murdered, (BAD WORD) make that killed hundreds of thousand civilians. Not once - twice and convinced thousands of guilt ridden service members that these murders saved a million lives. Guaranteed, if there is a God, HST is burning in hell. History lesson is over.

your account is mind boggling, did you really see it ? is there a tape out there you can post here ? If you read the transcript , the pres of columbia threw this guy under the bus every chance he got in the introduction and asked many leading and tough questions. In the intro all the applause was for the pres of columbia attacking the pres of iran. PLEASE SHOW US WHERE THE PRES OF COLUMBIA SAID ANY THING CLOSE TO OR ANY THING GOOD ABOUT IRAN OR IT'S PRES IN HIS INTRODUCTION. IT DID NOT HAPPEN !! READ THE INTRO IT'S ALL OVER THE NET ! when I first read this I thought it was you, it sounds like you.:com:

If You really watched this , the first applause came for the pres of iran when he was answering the question about WMD's...... he said iraq cooperated with IAEA & they were invaded..... he said they are cooperating. there was applause because most Americans know now and believe that our gov lied to us about iraq and they could be about iran..... It was laughter and applause / touche`.... It was not for the Pres of iran...... the later applause comes in the portion of the give and take between the presidents. I don't think many people can view or read this and think that the pres of columbia showed any respect or even any hint of it for this man......... The audience applauded many times in the introduction as the pres of columbia threw this guy under the bus countless times..... When the pres of iran starts he said : he felt insulted and claims were made by the pres of columbia that are not true. The pres of columbia called him a petty & cruel dictator. 99% of all America is against this guy. What are you afraid of ?

go back and read it or see it for the first time. the pres of columbia did not miss anything on the Holocaust. he asked repeated direct questions and even said that the pres of iran looked foolish because he has made claims about one of the most documented events in the history of the world.....why to you have to try and make your point with untruths, when there are facts in black and white against you ? you sound like the pres of iran .......

I think my ideas are for less gov and less corruption and spending. I'm point out both parties insanities, just because I don't follow most republicans doesn't make me the L word.:nono: I guess that's your way of dealing with every one that doesn't agree with YOUR PARTY ! You can have it. There are many moderate conservatives with me. The people in our party that think like you turned the white house over to Clinton and if you people don't get smart and get out of the way you will give America another Clinton ! You are a liberals best friend !

If this so Bryanz--we have quite a bit in common.

--however we might differ on what less gov is--on how parties had the transgressors within the party--and diff between is spending for necessary short term need or is it an escalating non ending expense--one in this catagory this admin was guity of Medicare ** benefit.

IMO whether Reb or Dem you can't acknowledge on one hand that SSN-Medicare-Medicaid or in dire shape--than rather than look for solution to shore up-- tack on yet another such as GW's Medicare ** or Dems proposed universal health care.
Note the ** were R-X( prescription drugs.)

Just an fyi, it's a quote from a friend that died, he served his country and was successful in life because he worked hard, took care of his family and made the next generations of his family & friends better. He never asked anyone for nothing. It's a quote that means what it says for guys like me , that are not as smart as guys like you. I guess everything is open to interpretation, if you take that double negative and finish it off with; "I OWE THE WORLD ! " I TRANSLATE THAT THOUGHT, TO A POWERFUL POSITIVE !!!

I'm not smart enough to figure out a health care plan for America but the way we have it now is not working.. Most of the outsourcing of jobs is a direct result of our current plan. We need to find a way to bring the cost down. We need to find a way to get people access to doctors and knowledge that will help in prevention, so that we don't pay the big price when they show up sick. Bush didn't want prescription drugs from Canada but he will allow illegal drugs from around the world to be sold on our streets. His administration has allowed poison food, toys and other products to be sold to the American people. All I ask of the government is to do the job we pay them to do. Take the billions we spend on the military & intelligence and give us our weak dollars worth at least. The one thing that I wish our gov did was : stop getting in the way, stop putting up road blocks and stifling freedom and prosperity ! This Administration has made it tough for working America to live their American dreams. When I say who is looking out for you and me. I'm not asking for anything but : someone tell those guys in Washington to stop ripping us off / stop giving America away !
