he is not going to win because he is in the sec!??! i have to strongly disagree...its one of the most highly regarded conferences....the acc on the other hand, while moving up, is no sec, big 12, etc......he may not win, but it aint cause of the conference he is in....and i DO strongly disagree that rivers isnt in his league. dead wrong about that!

I'm not going to say that Manning, if he keeps playing this way, does not deserve the Heisman. But, I'll tell you now, Manning will not win.

The top 3 Heisman candidates are White, Manning, Fitzgerald. Half of the voters in the East and South will vote for Manning, half for Fitzgerald. Everyone in the West and Midwest will vote for White. Especially if the Sooners finish the season undefeated.

Eli WILL NOT win the heisman. I think this is mainly because Ole Miss is not an elite team. Ole Miss gets SEC leftover recruits, and therefore, will never be an elite team. Unfortunately, I think the general public lets team performance play too much of a part in their decision when voting. Like it or not, White will win votes simply because OK is so damned good.

Wow CWOOD97...don't hold back. Tell me how you really feel!!! I have to agree with you though. In 97', Chuck was the most dominant player in college football. I am an SEC man (graduate of Bama) and I am a little confused. Isn't the Heisman supposed to be given to the best player in the country? If that's the case...damn it hurts to say this...the Heisman should go to...I can't believe I'm typing this...a player outside the power concferences...THE BEST RECEIVER I HAVE SEEN IN A LOONG TIME... LARRY FITZGERALD, PITTSBURGH.

But we all know it will go the Jason White, and you know what...good for him. After breaking his leg last year against Bama, he came back with a vengeance (it doesn't hurt that your defense could stop half of the NFL!!!)

As a Tennessee fan, I will have to say that you are right in Manning never winning a big game. I hope he does in the pros because he is a great person. Just glad we got rid of him before we played you guys a couple of years later and kicked the living S*** out of you in the Citrus Bowl!!!
