Looking into buying a Laptop for my wife, who is just starting out as a teacher. Below is a copy of a quote I got from Dell. Any opinions or suggestions on additions, subtractions, upgrades or downgrades, would be appreciated since I am not the most computer savvy person. I guess the question would be do you need all this stuff, just wondering, but so much of the stuff they sell, chances are you won't use so why buy it. Try this go on ebay search for laptops and check the prices and things you will use. I bought a ibm laptop, paid $250 for it, it has dvd drive, modem, all the ports and slots i need, it had no operating system on it but that was easy to add with a copy of windows me, all in all very happy with it very durable. hope this helps and it really is just my 2 cents worth, always been a believer in the philosophy of "not letting your wants, become your needs" good luck in whatever you do.

everything looks good. you might want to swap the DVD drive for a CD burner though, which she will most likely NEED as a teacher. Nobody ever uses the DVD drives anyway, except maybe on business trips.

I noticed you have 2 quotes for the Office XP upgrade. Never heard of the one for Teachers but get one or the other, not both. You can get rid of the AOL crap but then again that might come standard.

Looks like a humming machine, it should last a while.
