My Adobe 5.0 is corrupted... apparently and eventually WINDOWS XP corrupts the Adobe 5.0 File and it can't be used or an error message comes up.

And then when you go to ADOBE.COM to download a free 5.0 reader ( and click on download 5.0 reader) the web re-directs you to ADOBE 7.0...ALWAYS

i don't know if this is a scam between ADOBE and WINDOWS. Adobe gives a free trial and then wants a huge amount of money for their file.

ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX ADOBE 5.0 or download the 5.0 reader???? i looked in staples for it and it's nowhere.

CAUTION: EVERYONE ..that Windows Service Pack 2 is a huge pain in the ass... really huge.....if you can stay away from it do so....
a few people i know said avoid it like the plague because it is a plague. and they were right.

WINDOWS SERVICE PACK 2 is haunting me like The Flying Dutchman. I deleted it but it's worse than a bill collector. :cursin: :cursin:

i think i got a partial explanation...

i just read where WINDOWS SERVICE PACK 2 is known to interfere with ADOBE. Also Norton Firewall and/or Symantec Items and a whole host of other software and web sites.

this is true ..it totally shut down my Norton Firewall...and so i disabled this service pack 2... and right around the time my Adobe Reader went on the blink my Norton caught a malicious attack. apparently from some reported findings, Windows service pack 2 has some flaws and can be tricked into running malicious programs.

it also interferes with AOL....i find this particularly amusing in that AOL is " The King " of messing with peoples computers. I am surprised AOL allowed me to download this Windows Service Pack crap.

and now i am reading that this Service Pack 2 has some type of deadline of April 12th..in that if you don't install this $hit you won't be able to get future Windows updates.

By the way, anyone who doesn't want this garbage better turn off your automatic windows updates because they have full intentions of ramming this Windows service Pack 2 down everyones throat...

Now honestly if you read around , you are going to get reports that this Windows Service Pack 2 is peaches and cream. some peoples computers may accept it and some already have it.

I have a copy of adobe 5 the reader only

The reader has always been free, if you want to edit PDF's then you need the full version. There are other software out there cheaper than Adobe to create PDF's

I have had no problems with SP2, but then again, I work in computer support. Our company does not use it yet, but we will be going to it, so we can continue to get support from Microsoft.

Yes some computers aren't showing problems..YET.

that's the problem with SP2..it fvcks with firewalls and other programs. And you will think everything is okay until the attack happens.

SP2 has serious dangerous holes in it..

we will know more after April12th when they start ramming this stuff down peoples throats for whatever reasons they have.

BEWARE OF THE BLOB...LOLOL
