Computer Question...

I'm a real dummy when it comes to computer stuff, and right now I'm trying to use Norton's Clean Sweep (Internet Cache) to remove unneeded internet buildup as my computer is running really slow. When I click on, a little box appears with:

Cache Files: 24
Total File Size: 197,769 bytes
Space Occupied: 540,1072 bytes

etc......

When I click on the clean button another box appears with a yellow triangle sign in it saying "an internet browser is active on your system. This system needs to be shutdown to perform this function" Does anyone know where the hell I go from here..... :cursin: do I have to disconnect from the internet all together ?.... Thanks

press ctrl-alt-del at the same time and choose "applications" and then end all except norton programs.

then run Norton

I did the con/alt/delete and I got the applications but there's nothing in the box. Thanks

What the hell did I do now...... :scared. Computer is running faster, but there's some websites that I can't get back unto.....did I lose my cookies somewhere ? (what the hell is cookies) :142lmao:

Cookies are the web pages you visited. And if you cleared out all your cookies, you need to refind those sites you went to and it will add a cookie when you visit there. You will probably have to resign in on each site because it wont know who you are because the cookie was deleted.

Thanks for your response...appreciate it. The problem is when type the website in the address bar it sends me to a page with a bunch of things to search for. I can't get into the website to leave a cookie (I like that....leave a cookie). I'm going to keep trying....thanks again.

use google to find download page, download them, install and run those programs, each one of them. Then do a Norton virus search so that it will first reboot your computer and run search before any programs will start, there should be an option for that in some norton menu.
