is there a way to upgrade/download a new version of windows on-line?? I have a computer using windows 98 and wanted to get 2000 or XP, but I don't have a disk. Any ideas or should i just go buy the software? thanks

Buy the software from a retailer for sure. Lots of versions floating around the net that include stuff you never intended, meaning they track personal info and send it to other people's computers (credit card info, banking info, etc...). Just buy a copy and be done with it.

Well, technically yah can download it and install it and it will upgrade. BUT, I mean BUT, my advice is not to do it that way. While it works, it sucks in terms of performance for some reason. If yah can, I would format the drive and install the whole thing fresh. Then you will increase performance and it will work better.
