Conference finals dates set


The NHL just released the dates for the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoff Conference Finals.

The No. 2 seeded Detroit Red Wings and No. 4 Chicago Blackhawks start it out on Sunday in Detroit. The Pittsburgh Penguins (No. 4) and Carolina Hurricanes (No. 6) start their series on Monday in Pittsburgh.

This round, there will only be one game on per day. And NBC and VERSUS hold the national broadcasting rights in the U.S.

7:30 p.m. Monday, May 18 at Pittsburgh
7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21 at Pittsburgh
7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23 at Carolina
7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26 at Carolina
* 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 29 at Pittsburgh
* 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 31 at Carolina

I have been told part of the reason the scheduling is so bad is that HNIC needs a prime time match up and they cater to them, as they should......
but that?s just what I have been told, it sure is frustrating from US viewers perspective
