3-1 last week (Damn Indi!)
for 75-40 on the season.
SD @ NE under 47
We've seen teams so far in this post-season trying to run the ball and control the clock...and I think SD will be trying to do the same thing in this one.
SD will take away the long ball, so NE will be forced to run and throw short passes...SD will be running first, and trying to keep Brady and co. off the field.
28-24 v. Indi, but with 3 TD's of 30+ yards...2 of 50+...they ran the ball 29 times to just 23 passes...Even NE ran it more than they passed.
A cold, windy day forecast, with 20+ mph winds should mean even more balls on the ground.
SD haven't allowed more than 24 points in the last 10 weeks...some crappy teams there, but Indi twice and Jax looks pretty good.
NE allows just 13.7 at home on the season!
Jacobs under 75.5 rushing.
With the emergence of Bradshaw, Jacobs seems to have gone out of favour with the Giants having just 15, 13 and 14 rushes in the last 3 weeks. (Bradshaw has 17, 17 and 6 in his last 3)
As such, 67, 34 and 54 yards.
He's gained more than 75 yards on the road 3 times this season...@ Buff (25th yards allowed, 26th for ypc), @ Mia (32nd, 29th) and @ Atl (26th and 20th)
GB are far better tha 3 teams at stopping the run, and have allowed over 75 yards to a single RB just twice all season...Foster (20/87) and Westbrook (20/88).
Fargas, LT, Peterson, Portis have all been held under @ GB, so Jacobs would struggle under normal circumstances, let alone with 25% (at least) of his carries going to Bradshaw.
under 8.5 sacks combined
4 very good pass rushing teams, but also 4 very solid O lines.
NYG have the most, but only 2 last week @ Dallas...GB allow the 3rd least sacks, just 19 on the season!
Dallas got to Eli 3 times, but they were 3rd best for sacks, GB 13th @ just 2 a game.
There were 3 total @ GB last week.
Jax/NE combined for just 2 sacks last week...and just 2 the week before @ NYG.
SD/Indi did not have one sack...Tenn got to Rivers once the week before, and SD had 3 sacks against a weakened Tenn O-line.
Combined with some nasty weather, where I suspect there will be more runs than passes, and a lot of quick releases, 8.5 looks high.
There were a combined 8 sacks in the previous 2 meetings...but a combined 61 passes @ NE (51 runs)...
...and 78 passes!! @ GB (43 runs)...
...I doubt those numbers occur again this week.
Good Luck all
