"appear" is the right word.....teams that always appear primed in the wild card round usually get wacked the next week......there's a reason the team is a 5 seed.....it's called inconsistency

don't listen to what these posters have to say....some of these posters don't know what they are talking about & don't even have 1/10 of your knowledge in handicapping....

my handicapping guru once told me to keep my mouth shut & you'll learn something....

KC - There are a few individuals whose posts I look forward to and make sure to I read their thoughts, and you are one of them. I totally agree, while it is ok to disagree or be on a different side - the criticism that seems to be pervasive on this forum seems to be contageous - and it does get old. Don't let the ignorant ones ruin the good thing we have going - keep on doing what you're doing.

Good luck on the Panthers, I like them at +3 and really thinking about throwing them in a tease at +9.

Seattle -3
New England +9
Indianapolis -3.5
Carolina +9

I know I know the proverbial 'teasers = bad idea' - but for some reason I tend to have decent luck with them in the pro's. The only thing that scares me is a 6 pointer leaves a lot of crucial #'s out there, that a 7 pointer could take care of (ie -2, +10, -2.5, + 10); however 3:1 sounds a lot better than 2:1 !!

Interested on thoughts?

negativity? it's a different opinion. an arrogant one but different, none the less. is that reason to run? you know if you put picks up, you're open for different opinions. it's always been that way and will always be that way. nothing has changed from the beginning, nothing at all.

#1 and #2 seeds tend to do well this round as they are rested and at home and in general are the better team. #5 seeds do not do as well.

the "tone" of his post may not have been particularly friendly, but his logic was sound IMO.

exactly my point....just offering those in love with the car pick, info on what is going against car.....
too many sensitive people around here.....it's a game, it's betting, it's about gathering info before the game......if i posted contrary info, sorry for being negative....guess i should have added some brilliant insight like:

Good one Franky. I've had a rough time in my personal life lately and got out of character Monday. Wearing it on my sleeve isn't good, so enough of that.

Added: CAR +3 -115 x3

Alot of good info at this forum supporting either team. The biggest thing for me still remains 1st playoff game QB's. The line I set also supports the play. The absence of extremely cold weather doesn't hurt CAR.

The others:

WAS@SEA

My numbers say SEA by 6-7. The one thing that stands out for WAS is the question mark of Portis's health. Lean to SEA.

NE@DEN

The numbers again point to DEN by 5-7. Denver has kind of flown under the radar all season. I don't get too caught up in power ratings, but it shouldn't be ignored. Most have Denver at the top along with Carolina and the Chiefs. This of course leads to division rankings. The AFC West towers about all other divisions this year. The West played a fairly brutal schedule, two teams finished atop the rankings as mentioned with SD not far behind.

Denver will probably become a play, but a better price will probably come Saturday. There is already indication it is heading that way. I'm talking about a 3 with less juice. Think it's worth the wait to put more thought into it for now.

PIT@IND

The Steelers have a plus in that they have already experienced playoff type atmosphere at INDY this year. The Monday night hype should help them come Sunday. Other than that, we all know the Steelers were not the same team as the one on that Monday night. Both teams to some extent, as far as that goes. My numbers say IND by 3-4.

If you can figure out how IND comes out to play, let me know because I haven't. The Dungy death and the Colts lack of motivation down the stretch is worth consideration. Pass for me as of now.
