not sure if there is such a thing as a conference tourney game of year, lol. but whatever you want to call it, this is the strongest ive played anything in the past week and a half. caveat lector, and play it or fade it as you see fit, but i really like this play:

florida gators (+6.5) over kentucky wildcats

not moneylining it, but i expect florida to win the game outright. florida has played one bad game in the last month and that was last week in lexington when they were routed. these 'quick turnaround revengers' have been very solid moneymakers during conference tourney play. i think this carries more weight than the 'tough to beat a team three times' axiom. that game in lexington just snowballed on florida for about 3:00 and thats all it took for kentucky to bust it open. gators take this game down to the wire. love the way roberson is playing right now and it seems like theyve rallied around each other when dreijer bailed on 'em. theyre starting to show signs of playing to their potential as the big dance draws closer.

if this game doesnt win, im not playing another college basketball game until......thursday

So. Cal
kentucky is playing it's best basketball of the year and has motivation (win and get a #1 seed). in my mind they are playing as well as duke/stanford/gonzaga and should be favored to make it to SA in their bracket.

been on KY for a while and probably wont get off now. 6 is doable.

imo, wildcats are overlined as usual @ -6-. i make the line to be ky -2-, -3 at most. total seems about 3-4 points too high also. g/l with the play.

gjn23 im with you flordia's luck will run dry here today got lucky with overtime win against bama, dont know how they came out and won against vandy but they did and for kentucky everyone on madjacks was saying kentucky will win but not by spread i think the wildcats may be the strongest team out here going into the tourny

I love how people always come into your threads to critisize your picks - providing no information on the other side, just a bunch of garbage.

How quickly people forget that this is the same Kentucky team that couldn't finish a second half strong to save their life two months ago. Florida was ranked #1 in the nation at a point this year for a reason. I think you're on to something.

Good luck.

FYI - Pinnacle seems to be taking a stance on this line:

Florida +6 +111
772 Kentucky -6 -121

Going to make the Kentucky backers pay some heavy chalk.

I hate coming into threads without info. . . so here's some. . . UK is 25-7-2 ATS in the SEC Tourney (2-0 this year) and SEC Tourney Favorites from the quarterfinals on out are 57-29-3 (4-1-1 this year if you count FLA vs Bama as a push--it was for me--and yesterday's pick vs. Vandy).

Still, I agree with the Florida love. Not so sure they can handle Kentucky's court savvy, and I'm still waiting for that win that really wows me. But, if you throw out a ten-game stretch from mid-Jan to mid-Feb, the Gators record SU and more importantly ATS are pretty damn good.

ill be the first to admit that 10 game stretch was a pathetic stretch of games for donovan and the gators. they looked really bad in january. but theres always one or two teams in a given season that start off with high expectation....peak too early... then look like dog shit for a month or two....people write them off... and then all the sudden theyre back playing to their potential. florida strikes me as a team that could fit that mold. i would like to think missouri could be another team like that, but it looks like they might have bottomed out again.

Jack,

I did not play this game so it matters not to me, but don't you think that the "throwing out" of roughly 35% of a teams schedule is bit less than being prudent ?

Just a thought:)

-4.4 units in a game that was over 0:30 into the game. never once had a chance to cover this game.

lunquist and rafftery can give florida the excuse of being tired but they simply got their fu/ckin asses kicked and its lame to attribute it to fatigue. kentucky had to play three games in three days just like florida, and the cats are the ones with the short bench. just annoys me to hear people just throw the "fatigue excuse" out there. florida got drilled. period.

granted kentucky hit everything they threw up, but florida was pathetic from the opening tip

threw away a lot of money the L2 days that was gained from the last month.

For all the talent Florida always gets its beyond belief how shitty defense they always play under Billy Donovan. He is a great recruter but a bad game coach.

I feel everyones pain, I lost 3 units on the game. I couldn't help but notice Florida's squad, physically, looked like high school kids playing a team full of grown men in Kentucky! The Cats were bigger, stronger, faster, and it showed with their dominating inside play. The announcers tried to cut Florida some slack with talks of fatigue, but they were just getting thrown around all over the court like children.

Championship week ended with a bang for me when Illinois couldn't score a bucket in the last 30secs to push the game over the total for me.

-6 units this week:(

oh well, reload for tourney time!:)
