Just something to think about. (me included :D ) Taken from the RX.

Unbelievable NBA Trend - (69-19-2 last 3 years)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Play UNDER Denver 2nd half when at Home

2000-200 31 wins 10 losses 1 push
2001-2002 32 wins 9 losses 1 push
2002-2003 6 wins 0 losses

has anyone else seen this?? WOW!

ok, interesting trend, but why does it happen?

im thinking players get more tired in the mile high air, so they perform worse? hmmm

good stuff...we need to put a "sticky" on top of the message board so we keep this in mind.

Good luck tonight! :)

I was just thinking...

Maybe Denver just cannot shoot.
Maybe they suck ??

Maybe...they play the half court set with young guys
who don't know how to play the half court set AND
management hasn't realized they should be running
up and down the court ?

Just a scientific approach

I don't have the stats, but last year I played the Kings over in the 1st half and under in teh 2nd half routinely and did very well......It hit again last night in a BIG way......I will check those stats when I have a chance, unless somebody else has quick access to such.

TJ....just started this yr. getting into halftime wagers. have been checking out your halftime thread alot. what i was wondering....
im sure uall have certain situations that you have over the yrs. found to be profitable. kinda like nolans halftime trends he uses for nfl. i dont expect you to have numbers/results for trends that you might mention.....just want to know if u have the time.....could some of the halftime cappers post a couple guidelines or trends they use....like nolans trend in nfl ....play on an underdog 2nd half when they are getting more pts. than original line....have you noticed that this a good play in nba???
or you could just tell me dont worry about cappin and follow your plays...i keep kicking myself each morning when i read thru your thread and most times, you guys make money...feel like im missing out on this oppurtonity, but i dont know the first thing about it.

thanks, burgh...

I did the same with the Mavericks, selectively. Came out positive at the end.

Last year some one on another site noted this and I made some serious coin on this trend. He said that the past few years it has been a good bet. Maybe the sea level

Burgh: for me, there are a lot of factors. Spend a lot of time in the database (above) print quite a few trends as well. Look at the closing number and I also look at the 1/2 time box score. Shooting percentage, how many 3's were attempted, who's in foul trouble, who played and for how long, etc.

For me, no real solid formula. i did much better last year, but it's still early. I also listen to what the halftime team has to say. I watch as many games on the dish as I can click back and forth to. my eyes hurt at the end of the night. wish I had a better answer! Sometimes all the factors shown tends to go with just a gut play on how you think the game will end. GL and join us, even if it's only throwing out you opinions. (no $) later, TOM

ps: Thanks everyone who chimed in!!!!!!!!!!! :D

On the course!
This is an angle that has had my interest for some time, now. Some of you might have seen my post a week or so back about the Milwaukee Bucks. They are playing far better ball in the first half, than in the second.

The thing that gives you a window is this: The line makers split the game in TWO equal halves, and the game is rarely played that way.

EXAMPLE

If a game line is -9 200, the half might be -5 99

You find a team that plays two differnt halve sof ball, and you can find some serious edges.

Burgh: Stop by and give it a shot. Pretend your the field general. you know the overall line and total. now your 1/2 way through the battle, it's up to you to check your game plan (once the 2nd 1/2 line is posted) and get a general picture on how the game will end. GL!! see ya at the 1/2!!!

YYZ: great point!!!!!!!! Milwaukee SUCKS in the 2nd half for over a year now. let's hope the linesmakers haven't figured it out yet.

Matt: (UT-Longhorn) NO! Darn!! :D
