cordless mouse question

I have a Microsoft Optical Mouse Blue. I like not having the cord hooked to it, but it does one thing that is very annoying. Every so often, about twice every 5 minutes while in use, the cursor goes down about 3 inches and left about 2 inches, just jumping. Anybody know why it does that or how to stop it? It also more infrequently jumps back to the last page just viewed. Thanks.

When did you last change the batteries?? I had one that did strange things around the time I needed to change my batteries in it. It's worth a try!! Good Luck!!

If ya can't fix it get a Logitech next. Abuse the hell out mine and works great. Had it bout 2 years.

brand new batteries, has malfuntioned like this since day one.

I have a Logitech as well and has been excellent so far. Try checking your settings in the Control Panel.

Have had similar problems when using certain mousepads. Try a dull, non-reflective mousepad or none at all. Hope that helps.

i just got one 2 days ago for my laptop. it's a 'targus' ?

anyway, i was having similar problems but i kept resetting it and playing with the little button on the receiver and it works fine now.

i doubt i helped you out, just letting you know my 2 day experience.
