Hearing that 10-15 players for miss state got suspended for tonights game because of grades from the last semester/spring.

Fletcher Cox and Dylan Favre both tweeted they didn't travel with the team. Shit is all over MSU message boards

Any insight into this??? gonna be all FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUU if true?

normally don't put too much stock into recruiting site peoples' opinions on betting or evaluation of players or shit like that. but a team's home board on rivals is generally a good source of information about status of their players and eligibility just because of the reporters who have access

regardless I'm already on State for a nice piece of pie. Was debating a buy back if too many guys were key players

Sounds like some Ole Miss fans posted some shit on the MSU boards to get them riled up.

IF they were suspended for grades it would not be for one game, it would be for the entire season as they would likely be in violation of the academic progress statue(see below). (Unless they did not go to class and Coach Mullen is suspending them one game to send a message.) IF this was true it would have been reported yesterday when they team got on the bus, as these players would not be part of the travel roster.


"The student-athlete must complete an average of 12 semester hours during each of the previous academic terms in academic years in which the student-athlete has been enrolled full-time, or
b. The student-athlete must complete 24 semester hours of academic credit since the beginning of the previous fall term. If a student-athlete passes 18 or more credits during the traditional academic year, he/she may use up to six semester hours from the summer terms to count toward the 24 required hours."

I would have expected this information to have been out way before now.

Just watched a chat with MSU beat writer Brandon Marcello. He said that MSU will not confirm or deny about 10 players being suspended until right before kickoff. This to me sounds like it could have some truth, but will likely be just one game suspensions for violation of team rules. (wouldnt they just say the rumors were not true if the guys were going to play?)

Either way I dont think it will matter MSU will likely cover, as Mullen only knows one gear full speed.

after thinking about it, MSUs 2nd string beat memphis 21-7 in the 2nd half. so even if a couple starters are out, it doesn't effect my opinion that they put up 40+ and don't give up double-digits.
