Damn striaght brother!! How about the other Vette drivers waving as you go by. Nothing like taking the car to a cruse in and meeting new people!
Morris - it is one of the fews things left in life that are truly American....while BMW makes nice cars (among a lot of foreign companies) - well, it's nice quite the same.
And I guarantee you that there are LOTS of Americans that love America - and see the difference between a Corvette and a "turbo Porsche 911" or whatever they call it.
If your family is from here, and obviously you are from here, you feel the American pride. And there is nothing more American that a Corvette.
I'm sure people that are new to the country, or who's parents aren't from here, may not have the same view. Obama fits into this category - with a parent from a different country.
It's hard to feel die-hard American, if you haven't had the history. While I'm not a fan of the bailout for GM et al (I'm a big believer in letting the market decide) we do need American muscle cars to continue. The foreign manufactors just don't make an American muscle car - not one that a majority of the US folks can afford, that is.
$60K (or less) for one of the best sportscars in the World. How can you go wrong? AND I would venture to say it is easily the most RESPECTED sportscar in the US. Like ESPN used to say "Chicks dig the long ball" - well they also dig "the Corvette". I doubt if they give a shit about the Porche or the BMW M series......
I can't see me driving a rice grinder like a Honda Civic, no matter how many modifications I make to it, no matter how much "drifting" is considered a cool thing.
Ford Trucks, Corvettes, Mustangs, even Cadillac Escalades - it is what America is all about!
