Busy time of the year for us. W Texas will have low grades out the ass and the rain 3 weeks ago made what was left in the fields look like crap. Talked to a guy in S Caro who said he couldn't believe the difference in the ranges between the grades. He said it wasn't unusual to see SM thru LM all with about the same number of bales. the elusive middlings should be found in the memphis territory cotton but you'll probably have to take other stuff you might not need. Haven't seen anything recap wise out of S Tex, but got to assume L spots, spots, and tinges as always.

We're on the lookout for
SLMLS or LMLS 1-1/32'' 30-49 mic 25+ gpt

also the same
in SLM or LM

We also got an offer to deliver some high grade spots and tinges, short staple, high mic or low mic, but they want it real cheap. Looking for 170-255 B/C's of this.

We've got to be the biggest gamblers in the world since our pay checks come from the cotton business.

Let me know if you've got any info up your way.

Thanks

Thanks for the response Josh. I am currently up here in NYC working on the floor. Price have been decently strong as of late due to crop damage and china sales by us merchants and co-ops. i see March trading in the range of 46-53 in the weeks to come. we are seeing an abundant of 42,52s in memphis territory with the mic a little lower than last years 50 avg. the southeastern crop is in terrible shape with some yields as low as 200lbs an acre. With the absence of middlings and better from this years crop(only 9% of which is classed) , most of the cotton will be export type cotton. As far as the W and S texas crop i am not sure and i know only what i read. SJV is superb pima and acayla both holding strong basis.

vol. was weak today, but march stayed decently steady no thanks to locals getting short to push through yesterdays low of 5040. the trade and late option buying pushed futures a little higher.

Hell Woodson you have to be the craziest gambler of all. Sometime you'll have to give me the run down on NYCE and the day to day adventures of the floor.

Being a supplier and exporter of cotton I'll try and let you know what our south east asia agents are looking for.

Kind of short on time, but there are questions that are popping into my head that I would like to ask you sometime.

The one question I have before I go is do you know of a website that has cotton future quotes (doesn't have to be in real time) We have DTN in Lubbock, but not here in Austin. When ever I need a real time quote I can call, but I hate calling all the time just to know what the markets doing. If you know of one I'd sure appreciate it.

Take care
Josh
