y'all will be glad to know i'm not on tilt tonight. got back a good chunk of the money i missed out on yesterday in that dead heat.

this game boils down to one simple question. is this a "big game" to the sooners? although that question may not be all that simple to answer. i mean, it's the cotton bowl. a lot of tradition there. but it's not a bcs bowl game. if it is a big game to ok, then a&m is a no brainer. most of us have learned by now that stoops SUCKS in big games. i'm going with the theory that it's not a BIG game for them. ok has won 3 straight bowl games, covering the last 2. they covered against iowa last year in the insight bowl, when iowa had a very good record in bowl games. they blew out uconn 2 years ago. that was a bcs game, but uconn clearly didn't belong on the field with ok. and they beat stanford but didn't cover on new years eve the year before.

so if it's not a BIG game, the sooners should look like one of the best teams in the country and win this game. and i really hope they do, because that may overvalue nd just a little more for monday night.

the line drop is also telling. because it ain't "the public" hammering oklahoma down to 3.

oklahoma (+3) 3 units. if i was 100% convinced this isn't a BIG game for the sooners, this would be 5 units. but the stoops factor.... it could always rear its ugly head.

hey, it's a morris sighting!! other than fighting a sinus infection for 2 weeks, i'm alright. how are you doing?

i'll be plenty thawed out if oklahoma wins this game. but i'll watch the 2nd half in the morning.

well, the nice thing about that second half was i didn't have to waste half an hour this morning watching it. all i needed to see was jones throwing a 2-yard pass on 3rd and 4. then i put it on fast forward while watching a&m move the ball downfield with no resistence. then i just skipped ahead to the end to get the final score. took about 2 minutes.

so.... thank you, bob stoops. you saved me about 28 minutes this morning. i appreciate that.

at least i saved 2 units because i knew i couldn't fully trust stoops to coach his way out of a paper bag.
