according to espn Dallas is releasing Quincy. Todays press conference will say one way or another. I don't know if it's true, if it is Parcells must be seeing good things in practice. I think Dallas needed to move away from him, he seem's like a backup or third string to me.

Wow, I thought they would let Quincy have at least the Pre-Season to prove himself! Vinny's skills have really diminished to the point that I dont feel he can win in the NFL without a super strong running game so you have to wonder if Parcell may be going to let Henson have a shot at starting!

i read something about Antonio Bryant catching a pass down the sideline from Henson. supposedly it was a laser beam and Henson threw it from his knees. Parcell's must see some good thing's. i thought Vinnie's skill's had deteriorated but who know's.

AS A DIE HARD SKINS FAN.......

I applaud the move by the Tuna. moon1 Put Vinny behind center with a rookie running back and Keshaw (get me the damn ball) at Wide out. I am loving the match-up teams will have against them. Put any OK CB against #19 and he is taken out of the game and then blitz the hell out of my cousin Vinny.

 Nice job Tuna put Hensen in after all look how good Hucthenson played after taking 4 years off :scared .

I would have at least kept Quincy as a back-up after all he is the only player that knows the cowboys offense. :142lmao:

Cowboys cut Carter after positive cocaine test

Quarterback Quincy Carter is expected to be released by the Dallas Cowboys Wednesday after testing positive for cocaine, league sources told FOX NFL Sunday insider John Czarnecki.

Club owner Jerry Jones confirmed that Carter has been released. Cowboys coach Bill Parcells is expected to hold a regularly scheduled news conference at 11:30 a.m. PT Wednesday at the team's training camp headquarters in Oxnard, Ca.
Carter entered the league in the NFL substance abuse program and this is his second positive test, which by NFL rules would warrant a four-game fine ? not a suspension.

Aikman: Where Cowboys go from here

Carter's agent, Eugene Parker, did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Carter, who started all 16 games last season, came to camp expecting to be the starter again. The other quarterbacks in camp are 40-year-old Vinny Testaverde, who is reuniting with Parcells, rookie Drew Henson and unproven second-year player Tony Romo.

The Cowboys drafted Carter in the second round out of Georgia in 2001. He was named the starter to replace Troy Aikman during his first training camp, but he struggled and only started the first eight games. He went 3-5, completing 90 of 176 passes for 1072 yards, five TDs and seven interceptions.

The next year he was the starter out of camp again, leading Dallas to a 3-4 record before losing the job to Chad Hutchinson.

Last season, the Cowboys went 10-6 with Carter starting and got back in the playoffs in Parcells' first year in Dallas. He threw for 3,302 yards, but had 21 interceptions and 17 touchdowns. He was intercepted at least twice in six games.

This move comes on the heels of reviews claiming that Henson has been the best quarterback in camp thus far.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Wow! Looks like Vinnie is the man until Henson gets his feet wet.

I wouldn't count out Tony Romo, either. He was by far the most impressive of the four QBs at the June minicamp.

I just heard a tape the other day of him saying he was the qb for the season. The coaches never said so but he thought he should for the benefit of the team. Maybe someone didn't like him pulling rank like that.

It's the same problem he had at Georgia when he started throwing games to feed his "habit" and suddenly came down with a "knee injury." Funny how the knee's never been a problem, but his nose sure is.
