My Steelers looked pathetic tonight...they couldnt run, couldnt block, couldnt tackle and again got out physicalled. This is by far the worst Ive seen them get dominated in a long time. A quick question...is Bill Cowher one of the worst in game coaches of all time? Why would you run a QB draw on 4th and a LONG 4 with your QB who hasnt played in 2-3 weeks, has a bad knee, if he gets hurt the season is over, and oh ya...its a LONG 4. It was a sad night to be a Steeler fan. Why would you do that?
In my opinion the onside kick at half was pathetic also...I dont want to hear if they would have recovered the kick it would have been a great call because it wouldnt have been. Indy got an 80yd bomb to start the game and that was basically it in the first half. I believe the only times they got field goals are when they had a short field to operate on. Point is they werent moving the ball right down the field and at the end of the first half Manning looked a bit frustrated and confused. Why give them another short field? Why give the home team added momentum? The defense was actually bending a bit but not coming close to breaking... which leads to another question. Why would you put your defense in that situation, especially since you havent moved the ball efficiently the entire game? Indy clearly won and was a far superior team tonight, thats hard for me to admit since Im a die hard Steeler fan but they were and they deserve credit. We had horrible play calling which is something you cant have if your trying to beat the best team in the NFL... on the road.

On a side note and for betting purposes of course...why did they run the clock out when they had the ball on Indy's 30 with over a minute left and I believe a couple timeouts, why not try a score because 1. you never know what can happen 2. Try to build atleast a little momentum for a huge showdown next week and 3. cover our teasers :D

In my opinion Cowher and the coaching staff had a huge part in the Steelers being embarassed on national television. They definately lost the game but might have hung around with some good adjustments and some faith...think about it. Cowher showed no faith in the offense when he tried the on sides kick (they were only down 9), with a chance to kick off and maybe gain good field position, he again showed no faith in the passing game when he ran a QB sneak on 4th and a LONG 4. He also crushed any momentum or confidence the team regained after that 80yd play. They had a pathetic game plan and made no in game adjustments to fix their lack of preparation. I know the game is won and lost on the field but the players are executing the plays that are called and what they practiced all week. The Patriots didnt win 3 out of 4 Super Bowls because they had the best players, dont get me wrong they had a great team but they also had great game plans, an unbelievable coach and staff, and always made great adjustments.
They do it and did it to the Steelers 3 times.

Ill say it again...its a sad night to be a Steeler Fan.

Enough ranting, bottom line...if the Steelers lose next week the season is pretty much history with the way the AFC is shaping up and it will be hard to win on a short week after being embarassed and let down on a national stage. Especially when your coach shows no confidence in you.

Look forward to reading your comments in the morning. Im sure a lot will disagree and a lot will agree but thats what this forum is about.

Have a great night.

Tubby, where in my post is there any whining? I stated facts about the game and asked intelligent questions hoping to get an intelligent response. No whining!
I gave Indy credit saying that they beat us and dominated us and they are the best but there was still horrible play calling that didnt help or put the Steelers in a position to win. This happens all the time with Cowher in a big game and I am not a Cowher basher, I am always sticking up for him but after last night I cant do that anymore. Who gives a shit how many regular season games he wins. If you cant win in the playoffs and you cant win big regular season games and you get out coached every...Every big game then your not a good coach. I would like to know why people think he is a good coach?

Great motivator, D+ coach.

They just had so many good players that they usually win despite him.

If they had a quarterback, instead of Kordell Stewart, they coulda had a Super Bowl in those days.

He gets out-coached, and makes poor decision's consistently, the players love him, but must be realizing this by now.

I thought they would at least cover, but Colts did a number on them, and as the Pats showed last year, gave a good blue print on how to stuff there run. Just run around there slow offensive lineman, making them pretty useless.

i agree, the onside kick was lame as was the 4th & 4 call.
when you play someone like indy you need to keep the trick b.s. that can give your opp great field position out of the game. people might say that if they got the onside kick you would praise cowher, but i wouldn't. it still is a horrible call to give your opponent momentum to start thr 2nd half. the risk vs. reward should of rang a bell. i never was impressed completely with cowher.
i believe him & martz are the worst high profile coaches during the game. if i was there fans i would have a seizure just watching their games.
