For some time now I have been saying that Creighton is one of the most overrated teams in the country.. week in and week out they struggle to beat subpar teams by small oucomes. If they are going to be top 20 they should only stay ranked if they lose to a team like SIU at SIU anyother loss and they should not be ranked, especially witha strength of schedule around 200. After a loss to Witchita State Creighton fell to 17 I believe in the top 25, while other teams continue to fail to be ranked because they play tough schedules and are only 17-7 instead of 22-3. Creighton may very well be a good team, but they should not still be ranked

GREAT call on Witchita on Saturday. I didn't have the cojones or knowlegde about teh Shockers to take them. Regardless nice call on WSU, I know you are the true guru of the MVC!

I agree.

Knowing your ASU background your 17-7 comment probably related to ASU. Since I'm a UA grad I've been hoping that Creighton fooled the committee into giving them a #4 seed in the UA bracket. Now I see them as being exposed as a mediocre ranked team who will be seeded accordingly....around a 6-7 seed.

Here's to a UA blowout this Sat!!!!!!!!!!!

i honestly see creighton as this years kent state. they could have an elite 8 type run in them.

i know it sounds crazy, but i still think tulsa is going to win the wac tourney and be VERY dangerous in the big dance, if they sneak in.

creighton and tulsa are two teams that i think will turn it on once conference tourney time comes. for now though, creighton seems to be just tryin to get the regular season over with so they can play the big boys for something that counts.

i just really think this year a midmajor makes it to the elite 8 (again) or possibly even the final 4.

and i dont think itll be a gonzaga or a kent state.
creighton and tulsa have all the pieces to go really deep.
both those teams have been ATS betting disappointments this year, because expectations have been so high.
but when they play for keeps- i think the jays and hurricane will be dangerous

Does Tulsa have any shot at an at-large bid if they don't win the WAC tourney? I'm sure it would help if they beat the Zags on Saturday, but I would think it'll be a tough sell for them to get in if they don't get the auto.

I think there was another ASU guy on this board for football season with me on here. Yeah that 17-7 comment was aimed somewhat at ASU but really who has ASU beaten? Purdue and Utah on nuetral courts was nice and Cal at home.. but other than that I dont see why they should be ranked. WHEN they beat UA on Saturday they will be in the top 25:D- I was telling ststrl that UA will be 2.5 poiint favs but who knows... I cant wait

As for midmajors... Creighton wont sneak up on anybody, people think they are great so they will be better prepared for the smaller schools. I think TUlsa is legit your right, but I really like as my sleepers this year in Louisiana Lafayette, Bradley who may surprise and win the mvc tourney, morehead st, and the proverbial Weber St
The MVC will get two teams becasue I dont think Creighton wins the MVC tourney with SIU giving them a serious run, and dispite Bradleys off ocurt problems and great success at Carver Arena can do some damage if they get hot.. watch out for the Ragin Cajuns from the Sun BELT

Trust me this Creighton team is not the same creighton teams of years past. Neither is Southern Illinois. Wichita took Creighton with 3 soph and 2 freshman starters. Wichita state is a tough team to beat at home.

First off BG you said 3.5 points, so i guess take the extra point. I'll beat UofA will be favored by 7.5. The play on Sat will be UofA and the points or ASU on the ML. Neutral court ASU would likely beat Creighton, Creighton SHOULDN'T be ranked at this point. Blowing out a HORRIBLE UCLA team and blowing out a BAD USC team, should get you votes (none in ESPN a couple in AP) but shouyldn't make you guys ranked. ASU has a solid squad thsi year, no doubt. Ike has been your real on constant. Some games HUGE NOSE Mileage shows up, then its Knight I mean you guys are good, but you will need 100% team effort vs us Saturday. 10,000 ASU fans.... It's 1 hour up the road, you guys will be loud, but homecourt will be shit. Trying winning at 2 of the 3 toughest places in teh country (Oregon and Kansas) ASU....cake walk.

Homecourt vs UA in Wells Fargo?? How many UA fans will be there...5-6-7-8 k?

I have the line as UA by 7 or 8. I'd be VERY shocked (and happy) if it were 2.

As for Creighton making a run......I say no chance. Much like The Zags last year, when that mid major is put on the spot as the higher seed in the first round it's a different mindset. I wouldn't be surprised to see them exit in round 1. They have no inside game and no strength. Say they match-up with a 10-11 seed from a power conference who pounds the ball inside with some horses (Michigan State???), it could be one and done.

just for the sake of the argument- i dont think any power conference team like michigan state would get an 11 seed, even if they were the "last team to get in".

creighton shoots the 3 so well and does have a respectable inside/out game with korver on the perimeter and deren inside.

however, i do agree with what you said- creightons seeding will be extremely important. committee will impact their chances for success in the tourney depending on where they slot them.

THe last in at large teams are double digit seeds so of course a power conference team will get a 10-11 seed, they always do. Big-10, SEC, Big East, Big-12...their last team in should be in that range. Minny, Mich. St, Alabama, Tenn, Nova, TTech are all potential candidates.

Still think Creighton is on the bubble as far as seeding goes. I'd be shocked if they were better than a #6 seed and could easily see them as a 10-11 seed should they lose another game vs a plus 100 RPI team. As far as them shooting the three, that's all I see them doing, one 30% shooting night from the three and they are out since they don't have much to fall back on.
