yes, and there are rumors of Nnamdi Asomugha possibly ending up in a jets uniform....Rex ryan has been avoiding talking about it, but can you imagine what that would be like

Nnamdi Asomugha?

Nnamdi Asomugha?

What would they need in 3 shutdown corners for? I understand its a passing league, but dont see that contract making its way to NY

On the heels of releasing CB Lito Sheppard(notes), the Jets have acquired CB Antonio Cromartie(notes) from the Chargers in exchange for a 2011 third-round pick. The pick could escalate to a second-round pick if he reaches certain performance levels, according to reports.

The deal will give the Jets one of the top CB tandems in the leagues, with shutdown CB Darrelle Revis(notes) manning the other spot.

Cromartie, who is beginning the final year of a five-year, $12.5 million contract, has displayed his considerable football skills since San Diego drafted him 19th overall in the 2006 draft out of Florida State. However, the Chargers weren?t always pleased with his actions on the field or off it.

Cornerback now becomes an area of need for the Chargers.

cromartie is a problem case for a few reasons....one of which is that he knocked up 6 different women & has fallen behind in child support payments....that causes distractions....but ryan has confidence that he can help cromartie both on & off the field....if he can then think it is a great deal for the jets....

Jets are drafting 29th and would have to move up to at least #2 to have a chance at him
