I have to take a shot at this one. I'm seeing a South wind, a decent over ump, Tapani who has struggled, and a very average Mac Suzuki. Like Nick D. says in his thread, the Cubs bullpen is tired, so hopefully the Brewers can get to Mr. Tapani. Good luck.

Since coming to MILW, SUZIKI has NOT been struggling. I hate the guy, go against him on most occassions, but look at the numbers:

Date Played : 08-22 Last 5 Starts...............................
Team Pitcher W L O U
Milwaukee SUZUKI,MA 2 2 1 3
RA HI BB ER Inn P ERA MOB
12 17 12 7 22.6 2.79 11.55
Chicago Cubs TAPANI,KE 1 4 2 2 25 29 2 7 31.6 1.99 8.83

Neither him or TAPANI is struggling. TAPANI is 0-9 in his last 13 starts because the CUBS do NOT score any runs for the guy. Their respective stats for home and road are even more impressive.

YTD Road vs Home ...........................
Team Pitcher W L O U
Milwaukee SUZUKI,MA 2 1 0 3
RA HI BB ER Inn P ERA MOB
6 13 8 3 17.3 1.56 10.92
Chicago Cubs TAPANI,KE 7 5 4 8 44 66 15 18 75.1 2.16 9.71

As you can see, TAPANI is 4-8 UNDER at home and all 3 of SUZIKI's starts have gone under.

CUBS have no offense and without McGriff will be lucky to get more than 2 or 3 from SOSA's homers. TAPANI rarely gives up many runs, 3 at most, so even with the wind going out and a slight OVER UMP, I see this one staying SOUTH and GOING UNDER.

**as a side note: LAST nite's game between CLE/OAK had two pitchers coming in with similar stats, wind going out, OVER UMP, and it ended 2-1. AND that was with the POTENT lineups of the INDIANS and A's. I realize that WRIGLEY is notorious for WIND OUT/OVER games, but yesterday it was blowing out also.

Didn't you guys think it was kind of odd that the Cubs put their weakest hitter in front of Sosa? You would think the would want to have as many men on base as possible when SOsa was at the plate.

. . . and I questioned putting Patterson in fron of Sosa. The Cubs weakest hitter gets on base when it counts. Shows what I know . . . or don't know.

Just glad to see Cubs score.

Under 9.5 ahhhh crap

I thought is was under 19.5

Well even that number would be in trouble today.

I got suckered into that under. Luckily only a half a unit.
