I see a lot of cappers are on the Dodgers because of "value". Well, I thought we were here to pick winners not teams that have value because they can win ?

Just some food for thought here.

Cubs at home 55-26
Dodgers on the road 36-45

Dempster at home 14-3
Lowe on the road 5-6

Lowe has been good over the past month but look who he pitched against, SF, PITT, SD, ARI, WASH.

Where are the teams that can hit here ??

Being a Yankee fan, I remember when Lowe pitched for the Red Sox. When the yanks hit his sinker to the opposite field they smacked him around. Thus, a good hitting team (Cubs) will hit Lowe not the likes of these crappy squads.

Cubs ML -145 HUGE

No way they lose this game. If it stays close Cubbies have a better bullpen and can withstand any close game.

count me in the people that hate when people toss the word value or public or whatnot. agree the dodgers have a better shot of losing than winning, but i hope i'm wrong. just want to point out that the dodgers have a better bullpen and its not even really that close. both teams have good pens. i agree that all other intangibles and more consistent bats favor the north side manholers.

anyway, can't say i wish you luck, but whatever.

Isn't that what we are supposed to do as handicappers??? Get the best value you can for your money? If you go by your own logic, then you don't pay attention to the price of the game.....simply who you think should win. So if the Cubs were -310 today, you would still bet them? Or would you take a poke at a good Dodger team that has a chance of giving you a good return on your money......thus the value of the bet.

Not trying to bust your chop by any means, just trying to set the record straight by the meaning of the word "value" in the "value bet". GL to you.

Well said TeeMo. It's worth saying that you should NEVER bet a team that you don't actually think has a shot to win, but value is, I think above all else, what you look for as a capper.

I understand value for the bet that you place.

But you cash in when they win.

I prefer to place my money on the team THAT WILL WIN....not the team THAT MIGHT WIN.

So how much do you want for those guranteed winners ???? If you got teams that you KNOW WILL WIN, I'll pay lots a money for 'em

None of us are gonna bet money on a team that we think is going to lose........come on now dude.

So, you're telling me that the Dogers are going to win ? Good, I can live with that.

My point is...that I see that people are on the dodgers because of VALUE OF THE BET not because they will win.

Great IF the underdog wins in this situation you get value for your dollar and a win. :SIB

But at -145 ML Cubs you're passing on a good value % bet on a team that was 55-26 at home and Dempster 14-3 on the same field.:0corn

Good Luck with your pick. I apologize if my tone is inappropriate. Typing has that effect sometimes.
