I must add, the Earl Weaver interview as a whole is great, but his answer to the tomato question is about as good as live radio interviews get...

I'm one of a few in this town that can easily remember when 5000 was a packed house at Wrigley. It wasn't too long ago, early 80's, but you wouldn't know that by their fans here and across the nation.

Not long before that, the area (neighborhood) around the park used to dangerous as all hell also. My brother works out of the station a couple blocks East of the park.

I've seen punk bands, slam dancing and all, at Sluggers across the street, in the past.

Not in today's Cubdome.

It can return.

In the cycle of things, what is 'hip" today, is tomorrows shame.
