DIAMONDBACKS/TWINS Over 9 -105 - The Twins have awoken offensively, last night?s 3-1 victory notwithstanding, as they are still averaging 8.33 runs in their last 3 games. They are now approaching a 5.00 runs per game average at home, where the average combined total score this season is 9.70 runs, nearly 1 run higher than tonight?s posted total. Mays has pitched better lately, but he still has a rather high 5.21 ERA on the year, and he is facing an Arizona offense that has averaged 5.20 runs per game in their last 5 games. Furthermore, this does not include the 4 runs the D-Backs scored in 4 innings at Kansas City that did not count due to the rainout. The X-Factor here is Batista, who has pitched brilliantly to this point with a 2.87 ERA and a 1.25 ratio in 9 starts. However, Batista has never been able to hold this raging form for very long in the past, and he is probably facing a better offense than he has faced in the National League. I look for somewhat of a corrective effort tonight, helping the cause of the Over.
