73-73 with :17 to go. Now we have to hope Dallas misses. Jesus. What a joke. They probably won't even win if it goes to OT. Anyone who consistently bets on this league is nuts. This is the last one for me, win or lose.

had the clips (+3.5) and even in a win, this league is just a total crapshoot. wasn't like it was a miraculous comeback but both teams stunk tonight (two playoff teams and neither sniffed 80 pts). look at the quarter splits. at the end of 1, clips looked like world beaters. 12:00 later at halftime, they were close to getting blown out. and the 2h was a grind. nba is tough enough as it is. but in the final weeks of the season, flip a coin.

What an f'ing joke. Funny how the pieces of shit actually show up when the game is on the line. I used to think they had a chance to contend but they showed me what they're made of tonight. They don't have a chance in hell of beating the Spurs.

Sorry, I thought it was pretty obvious that I was talking about the playoffs, hence a series, not one game.

i understand what youre saying, but youre acting like the mavs lost the game tonight at home to the bobcats.

dallas didn't lose.
and they were playing a playoff team on the road.

no matter how you slice it, its a good win for them.

they obviously could have closed the game out a little better, but they still got it done against a good team

I'm very critical, I admit that. But I thought that was a pretty pathetic showing by the Mavs in the 2h. The Clips are good and it was a road game, but I don't think it should have been such a struggle. They were up 9 with less than 6:00 to go and they're supposedly one of the best teams in the NBA... so just close out the game. The fact that it came down to a last second shot is ridiculous in my opinion.

one thing ive learned over time is that 6:00 is an eternity in the nba. i know that sounds like announcer-speak, but its so true. in college, its very difficult to blow near DD in the final minutes because your opponent will get at most 2 possessions a minute if you play the clock right. but the 24-second shot clock in the nba makes the game completely different from the ncaa. there are so many more possessions in the nba because of that, as well as the way they can advance the ball to midcourt just by calling timeout. no lead is ever safe in this league. the game is so long and has so many spurts that its really tough to cap. dallas is a good team that still held the clips to 32% shooting tonight. most nights, thats good enough to win by 10. but tonight was just bizarre. both teams stunk for stretches of the game

25 points in 2h by one of the best teams in the league is absolutely mind boggling. The Clipps may be a playoff team Gman, but they are really struggling down the stretch. Maggette is hurt and can't even get into his car and come to the Arena. A rookie almost beat the Mavs tonight. The guy only had 3 made 3 pointers all yr and hit 2 in the 4thq.

And don't forget that Cassell was pulled early in the game. The funny thing is I'm not even pissed off about the money, I really didn't have very much on the game. It's just an absolute joke to see teams crumble time and time again like this. This is why I rarely play the NBA. You never know when teams are going to show up or not.

trust me, i do agree with what youre saying mach. but i think the biggest dallas lead was only 12 points late in the 1h and im not sure if the lead was ever greater than 10 in the 2h. so it wasn't an epic meltdown. it was just some poor shooting on both sides that allowed the game to stay just close enough for the clips to make one push to get back in it. they held the clips to 33 points in the 2h themselves. so its a glass half full/ half empty kind of thing. again, just a really weird game. clippers outscored dallas in 3 of the 4 quarters. so you can make a case that clips played harder longer. dallas showed up for 12:00 (quarter 2).

Good points. And I'm not disagreeing with you, it just blows me away how some of the so-called "elite" teams have such tough times putting teams away. Not taking anything away from the Clips but they were without Cassell and Maggette. If the Mavs simply could have made some shots they would have won easily.

Absolutely. That says it all. And that's what is so frustrating. If they hadn't crapped the bed the rest of the game they would have won easily, in my opinion. But like you said, you never know what you'll get with NBA teams...

I agree Glenn, There's no doubt that Dallas is the superior team and they came out of the locker room and scored 11pts in the 3rd. This is exactly why I only play ML's with the NBA...

The other night I had Pheonix and I think it was the Lakers I can't remember for sure, but whoever it was I had +8.5 for the game and with the Suns up by 8 with less than 5 seconds left they threw up a 3 pointer that was totally meaningless and hit it. This game is fixed and there's no doubt in my mind about that. Stay with ML's and you'll keep your money most of the time.

parlay Clips and under 92.5 for 1 unit

:weed: I have been playing this trend for awhile now, the Clippers and the under in their games 2nd half have been paying mucho dividends when they are down at half...

Someone, I am to lazy to check, brought this up awhile back, and I would like to thank that person very much. Maybe a few more times this season

Ok, it's the next day and I'm still not over that Dallas debacle. I suppose it serves me right for playing an NBA game. One thing I know, I will NOT play another NBA game this year. The only question is whether I will ever play one again. I can't stand the overpaid, spoiled, gutless players in this league.

Mach,

You're probably right about playing only MLs. I only played Dallas -4 last night because they were in a must-win situation and the Clips actually benefit if they lose games down the stretch. And since I'm on the subject... doesn't it seem kind of funny that as awful as Dallas was in the 2h the Clips still couldn't win? And what about Cassell getting the flu? Could be totally legit... he could have been throwing up in the locker room. Then again, if it's not legit it's a great excuse to take out one of your best players and not make it look like you're trying to lose. It also sets up the possibility of guys like Brand, Mobley, and Kaman also missing future games with the flu. Like I said before I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but the timing of this flu is intriguing to say the least...
