just found out my brother-in-law (47 years old)
has to have a triple bypass very soon.

six 100% blocked passageways.

just in shock, he was in good shape, ate proper, etc.

he is in the countries best heart institute so hopefully he will be looked after.

was just talking to him 2 days ago and everything seemed normal, then the pain hit.

enough rambling by me, just in shock.

Wow, IE. Sorry to hear that. Best wishes for improved health for your brother. It has to be somewhat comforting that the surgery will be done at the best heart institute in the US.

"the bunker"
all the best,i.e.....i know it`s shocking but the guy that draws my blood at the lab i use said he had NINE......yes,i said 9 done....i`d never heard of anything like this before....sounds insane.....he said he had to see multiple cardiologists before he found one that would(or should i say could) do it...

he`s back at work.....i don`t know whether he was yanking my chain or not...he`s not exactly a comedian....so i`m guessing he was dead serious...

anyway,g.l. to your bro-in-law...

Look at the flip side, hopefully you can find out early enough for life-saving intervention.

My dad died at 66 three years ago from a heart attack and I wish we had known enough to get in and do some bypass.

IE,
Thank you for posting. Talking about things that affect us all is always a great post. I hope that all turns out well and thank you for helping us all to examine our own lives. If even for just a moment. All the best to your b-i-l,

Didn't mean to underplay the news, that's devastating. Fortunately modern medicine has gotten so good, they do these all day. I'm sure they'll take great care of him.

On the course!
I hope he gets through it quickly.

My best friend had it done at 44. Great shape, decent enough diet, but 99% blockage.

Just be glad he didn't poo-poo the symptoms, like so many do.
