WOW! Day #6. Got up a little while ago and feel great. Going to go walk 1.5 miles and increase the fresh air in my lungs. Having a coffee first. Start fruit juicing (heavy) tomorrow. That made me feel the best last time i "took a break" from the cancer sticks. :D

Good Luck everyone! Whoever fell, get back on board!!! Donna fell (day #1) and today she is on Day #3. Who cares as long as you jump back on.

Glad Jack started this.

Remember: :nono: SMOKING!

I AM A NON SMOKER!!!!

Congrats to Taoist for being at the bar last night and NOT SMOKING!

Keep it up guys. Weekends were tough for me because I had more idle time on my hands. Just keep yourself busy.

Glad you are getting back on with us! :thumb:

Did you grab smokes from Gayle or did you drive and go get them?

Try and hook up your Mom and Gayle this time. That would be sweet!!!!

No big deal Jack!

Jack,
You have 4 days under your belt and 1 screwup.....Nobody said this was EASY...It's a bitch and you REALLY have to want it....You have to recognize that you are ignoring self-destructive ADDICTION that you CAN BEAT...key question(if you really want to??). It may be that it accompanies impulsive behavior and the need for instant gratification or whatever..............but the need for nicotine IS KILLING PEOPLE and all you have to do is listen to them talk....listen for the respiratory rattle, the throat clearing, etc...AND then the carcinogens, the circulatory system problems...the heart disease...all silent killers but caused and aggravated by ......guess what??
OK....................................TO ALL of the FALLEN.................C'mon ...get back with us till this is done!!!!
You still see yourself as quitting smoking and somewhere in the back of your mind that implies there is room for failure.....cuz you like it................my ass ...YOU're ADDICTED............YOU MUST SEE THIS EFFORT as one who has already succeeded, is FREE and will NEVER under any circumstance smoke again!!! Then in a matter of weeks it will be easy, manageable and OVER........
Hey Fletch...............Where are you and how are you doing..we're with ya 100%.............Stay strong !!!!!!!!!

Today is my last day as a smoker. I will be joining the ranks of the NON SMOKERS tomarrow!!

One last night of smoking as I will be in AC playin poker & having my fantasy baseball draft. There will be much drinkin & gambling so to try & stop prior to tonight would not have been successful.

I am truely looking forward to joining all of you tomarrow, no matter how tough this habit will be to break!

Till then............Good Luck & stay smoke free!!

I just wanted to say thanks for all your encouraging words to the guys trying to quit. I remember about two years ago when I was trying to quit, you started a post asking me how I was doing.

It meant alot to me that someone I didn't know personally would take the time to see how I was doing. I'm sure it means a lot to these guys also.

When the great madjacks smokeout first began this week I thought about joining. My excuse is that its tax season. Stress is just too much this time of the year.

Anyhow, best wishes to you guys trying to kick this nasty, filthy habit. Its so sad, we know its bad for us health wise. I cant go into a decent restraunt and have a smoke. My wife wont let me smoke in the house. So many signs that say this is bad for you. But yet.

And bear, thanks again for caring.

I would like to say Thanks you have helped me a lot. Anything to help keep us motivated would be greatly appreciated. :yup I had quit for over 2 yrs before and just started back last summer. All it took was smoking a cigar on my fishing trip. :scared I thought I could handle it. I was dead wrong. :scared

One little slip Jack, suck it up and get back on the horse. You will be fine as I can feel your determination to be sucessful at this.

I was just thinking this morning that I (we) owe a debt of gratitude to Jack Sr. as it seem that his failing health was a big motivation for you to encourage us all to join you on this campaign.

This morning I look an hour long steam and coughed up all kinds of shit. It was really kind of shocking and disgusting. I feel much better this morning and can definately see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I want to thank you Jack, for encouraging us to join you in this effort and I fully expect to see you smoke free for the rest of your life.

We are not smokers!
