This is will be my 2nd year wagering on Motor Sports. Did OK last year, looking to improve. Have played two straights so far.

Jimmie Johnson WINS DAYTONA 500+10.00 2 Units
Kasey Kahne WINS DAYTONA 500+18.00 1.5 Units

Like these two as they have Friends, people who will not work against them. MatchUps have not come up, will post early Sunday. I will try and keep some lame ass record. Myabe Stanley can do some Car Races.

I will be making my NASCAR debut here on the board this season. My plan is to make 1 win bet and 2 matchup bets each week. I like to wait for Happy Hour practice to be completed. Will have picks up on Saturday night (late).

Good luck men! I will be posting weekly picks as well. couple mathcups and some win bets. Last year was my first losing season in 5 years.

I hate wagering on plate tracks, such a crapshoot

Gentlemen start your engines for NASCAR 2005!

Starting it all off of course, in Daytona, for the Great American Race. For most drivers, surviving the season's four restrictor-plate races is a victory in itself. Here are the bets, with all lines courtesy of Olympic Sports:

WIN BETS: 0-0 +0
MATCHUP BETS: 0-0 +0

WIN BET:

Earnhardt Jr. to WIN DAYTONA 500 (+330) 150/495

MATCHUP BETS:

Earnhardt Jr. (-140) over Waltrip 420/300
J. Gordon (-150) over Newman 225/150

How do you not pick Dale Earnhardt Jr. this week? The DEI cars have dominated restrictor plate races over the past four years, winning 11 of 16. Despite so-so performances leading up to Thursday's twin qualifying races, they finished 1-2. NASCAR's most popular driver starts the season off with a bang.

Jeff Gordon won this race and the season crown in 1997. I like him in this matchup over Ryan Newman's Dodge Charger.

OK. So far only matchups for me.

Sadler +120 over Jarrett. 2 units

This one looks the like the best matchup on the board. I know Sadler is starting from the rear, lets just hope he stays out of the big one. This play is more on Jarretts car being bad than Sadlers being good. This is my top play of the week.

Mears -120 over Vickers. 1 unit

Casey has been strong all week while the 25 has been struggling. The only thing the 25 has going for him is the Hendrick smoke under the hood. But as weve seen handling is going to be at a premium in this race.

I can't pull the trigger on a winner yet. I'm leaning toward the 24.

Like both prop plays, especially the Sadler one. My favorite of the day is Jeff Burton over Bobby Labonte at -140.

last practice at Dale Jr. at #1.

The race was fun to Watch. I wonder where 48 would have finished if he didn't speed in the Pit.

MatchUps 1-0 + 2.00
OutRights 0-2 - 3.50

Good day for me as I hit both matchups. Junior had trouble handling the car pretty much all day. Was definitely happy when Mikey blew up with 40 laps to go.

Win bets: 0-1 -150
Matchups: 2-0 +450

Total: +300

I'll take that all season!
