Phil Harris -- captain of the Cornelia Marie on "Deadliest Catch" -- suffered a stroke and is currently hospitalized, a Discovery rep tells us.

A spokesman for the show tells TMZ, "Phil Harris suffered a stroke while in port off-loading from the F/V Cornelia Marie. He has been transported to a medical facility and is receiving the best care possible. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and we will make more information available as we know it."

Phil has been captain of the Cornelia Marie for 18 years, according to the Discovery website, where his two sons serves as deckhands.

I like that show and watched several of the episodes.
Crazy shit.... tough job waking up in the morning wondering if you will make it through the day alive.
Now I know why Red Lobster whacks me 10 bucks to add a 1/2 lb. of king crab legs to my meal.
Those guys bust their asses, but I think they make a shitload of dough doing it. Kinda like the ole piece rate in the sweatshops. Filling pots, making $$$$, no crabs, no $$$$$.

I watched a bit of that show today. I wonder if the fisherman get to bring Crab back to their families. That would be some good eating. I know one thing is for sure, that shit looks dangerous as hell.

I must say Kneifl, in my book, there is no better eating than a big ass plate of crustacean. I think that 1/2 lb. of king crab at the red lobster consists of one claw and 2 legs for 9.99. On the one episode of deadliest catch they said they averaged about 3 -4 bucks per king crab (thats the WHOLE CRAB) so from sea to dinner plate, figure out that markup.
I'm in the wrong buisness..... hell lets buy a boat and some pots, tell the ole ladies to scram and start living the "high life" :00hour :00hour
