Jake smoking so he won't let him drive, but he will let him operate the crane. People's lives are at stake on deck too.

still slow but seems like they are setting up for some drama. The firing on the Seabrooke could have been played up/shown more.

Show seems a little off over previous seasons, but still a great show. CM is in trouble, Jake is an idiot didn't learn a thing.

Seabrook Capt :0074

Time Badit will bring out the AK47 on Keith next

this episode.. was a YAWNER....

I agree, 22000 pound error...isn't making anyone happy on the boat...

now they have to catch 56,000 pounds of red...

I don't think that boat can hold 56,000 pounds...

looks like Seabrooke's got alot more fishing to do...

:0003 :0003 :0003

jake and josh still think it's all about them...

Josh." I have to give up partying at 28, and come out here and work".....:142smilie :142smilie :142smilie :thefinger

Episode 5 "A Wing and a Prayer"

I have said this 100 times and I'll say it again........being a Greenhorn would really really really suck.

Also Jake went apeshit on Edgar:scared

Wizard versus Time Bandit Steel Cage Match....I'd pay to watch that:D

was a big fan, now it just plain sucks. with the fake scripted drama, like they're not gonna catch anything. to the stupid jerkoff karma bullshit, to call my daddy, pull a fucking hair out and make a wish, wtf. put her out there some more, to fake fights onboard, and finally at last full pots. and another thing, there was no way they were heading straight for the docks. first why would you be pointing in that direction if you were LEAVING the docks. second why was there a camera man standing on the dock ready to film it? not real. i'm done.

that's what I told my wife....

like the cameraman 'happened' to be on that dock as the boat was 'uncontrollable' at that exact point....

I still watch, but admit its like a train wreck, or the bad sub sandwich card you are finishing, or any other over-used saying.

However, the over-dramaticized stuff has ruined it like most reality shows that have been on this long (American Chopper).

The point that highlighted it the most was the green-horn swap a couple years ago with the 2 Jake's. One of them was put in the water and picked up and almost went underneath the boat. Yeah, like that wasn't scripted in the least bit. Can't remember which Jake almost was a goner, but there is no way they would do it that way if there weren't cameras around.

This show really peaked right around season 3 and 4.

Season 6 and 7 have really focused on some made for tv scripted drama which is a shame.

Some of or maybe even all of the drama is real as far as what is happening with families, but the network is clearly trying to turn crab men into actors and it comes off corny and staged.
Even the "Post Phil" talk seems staged. What a shame.

I still watch and enjoy it but the predetermined storylines seems to be the focus more than the crabs.

All these shows do it and call it reality when it couldn't be any further from reality.

The following shows are so far from reality that is is comical:
Gene Simmons Family Jewels(anything but reality)
The Two Coreys (more of a based on true events than reality.)
LA Ink (some of the most FAKE drama on tv)
Brett Michaels Gets Laid or whatever it was called.
Celebrity Apprentice.

All fake.
Let's hope Deadliest Catch rights the ship so to speak.

any of you guys remember season 1 where on the Northwestern they caught so much crab they had to make a psuedo-cage on deck with pots, just pile the crab on deck and put a spray hose on them to keep them alive until they got to to dock? I know the quota's prevented stuff like that since, but I think it is kind of a microcosm of how the show has gone away from the crabbing/fishing. They are more worried about the drama, potential fights and other crap.

Episode 6: "Exit Wounds"

Just my opinion but I think Phil would be disgusted with his crew. Captain Derrick getting a bad wrap.

Oh and if you are a greenhorn and you quit that is one thing. But to quit and watch movies within 10 meters of the crew on deck is just stupid. Hide in your room and don't leave. Man that is poor.

Episode 7 "Thick as Thieves"

Pretty low for Jake to do weed on the boat.

I love how the boys are feeling sorry for themselves, what do you think Phil would have done if he found Jake doing weed on the boat? He would have chucked Jake over-board.

Oh and gotta love running to the airport with nothing but your wallet.....yeah he ain't guilty:142smilie

did you see the look on some of the other crew member faces, particularly the guy with the green and black hat? Someone else was toking up with Jake and not fessing up.

I don't know how the other crew members are sticking up for the Harris' boys. Their paychecks are zilch for that trip.
